someone needs to make graphite thread holders because the herbert arnold aluminum holders aint hittin on shit man, these tree perc holders are pretty dope, i need to do a little research on how to install the percs before I bought them though. really been wanting to improve my perc game in general this year
Swim I make a brass version that's pretty dope for gl-25
let me burn up my herbert arnold one first. I dont even have any threads currently
I think mountain glass even has a warning on their page about the aluminum HA holders... kinda still trying to figure out why they used that metal compared to all the other metals they could have chosen, but I guess scientific workers are precise little goblins if anything, A brass holder would be pretty sweet, do you have GL-18 or 14 as well?. Griffin Glass has a graphite holders in 18 and 25, but its a bit of loot for something I can only imagine would quickly wear out given then nature of a thread and graphite.
Sometimes the caps for the GL threads look annoyingly large (depending on the vessel/vial/bottle you want to make I guess) as I seem to have seen some on smaller vial/bottles and the cap diameter look huge and kinda ugly, I can only think this is in large part due to the size of the thread. Some smaller caps/holders would rock for those smaller tincture vials.
DO you have a picture of what you guys are talking about?> I might be able to make them
So I made this gl-14 out of aluminum

but made from graphite. I would prefer them made from titanium.
Titanium are you sure?? It's the one of the hardest metals to machine.

I know a German scientific glassblower that has a set of them, he got the engineering workshop at the University he worked for to make them. Don't no if they machined them or 3d printed them.
raul24, griffin tools already makes a few out of graphite... but brass seems like the obvious choice imo
Even in it's pure state it's hard to machine because it's so gummy and you need a lot of coolant to keep it cutting. But I still think brass is the better option is really easy to machine and it won't break from great stress because it's always softening and can only be hardened thought work hardening not thought hearing and cooling like most metals

brass is typical for glass tools, and my brass tools are still true after years of use.
I can make this out of brass. Is GL-25 the thread size? How big is the outer diameter of the tool?
I make them out of brass already!! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...06907dc5af.jpg
