Re: I need to make my first rig.

For a beginner my favorite way is to have both pieces secured in some type of lab clamp or anything you can come up with. Bridges are great too but when you’re just starting out it’s less stressful...

    Skater Boy,
You don’t have enough pelts on the wall to be such a dick.

Year and half? I could have sworn I've been on the list for two years. I'll have to double check. Anyway, congratulations!

They've made a bunch of Phantoms and Mirages. I think the biggest complaint is the hand torches. If I were them I would crank out as many hand torches as I could BEFORE Bethlehem releases their...

For Sale: Re: Seam Glass Blowing Lathes

I've had 3 U's and they are incredibly well built and have more capacity than the 500 lb SEAM.

Litton U weighs just over 200 lbs and it's a tank. I think the Litton HSA tips the scales at around 350? Personally I think 200 lbs is perfect for a bench lathe.

I think if they would have made this model around 200 lbs they would actually sell. That's way too much weight for such a small machine.

I'm hoping the new Beth hand torches are good enough. I'm going to buy both but I'm keeping my name on the GTT list.

Getting a Grand or any 3 stage Torch will ruin you for all other torches.

Want To Buy: Re: Lathe Chucks/ Litton

You won't find a bargain on U chucks. I promise you that. Brandon at mouse machine works has a nice selection. You won't beat the prices he has now.

GTT has been cranking out Phantoms pretty fast. Really it seams like hand torches are the only real problem lately. Anyway, I've got a new Phantom I'd consider selling but I'm in the Midwest.

Yeah if I sold my Phantom I could buy the stack and both hand torches and have some change left over.

A Grand hand torch would be a good time. That outer fire is beastly.

Can't be one stage with 4 valves.

The angle of the head on the hand torch will make it kind of awkward making side seals on the lathe.
