I haven't had a chance to get over to my studio and unload it yet. I'm out of town again. Hopefully next week.

I will have to check when I get back from A.G.E.
Hey Dustyg, thanks for posting. I hear what you're saying about the open source software stuff. I'd be stoked to see what you've been working on. Part of the idea of the project is to get other...
The spindle has a 30mm bore but the chuck only has a 20mm bore. I'm going to try to bore out the chuck to match. It just bolts onto a faceplate on the spindle.
Same. The spindle hole is actually quite a bit larger than the chuck. I'm going to try to bore the chuck out to 30mm.
Neither. They are 100mm 4th axis assemblies typically used for CNC routers.
Yeah, that's totally how I'm doing it. There will be the usual levels of Kickstarter rewards like $300 for the metal kit, $400 for the completed electronics enclosure, $700 - $800 for the parts that...

Some of you may have followed my previous thread on building this lathe. Here's a little teaser for January. Glass blowing lathes are pretty expensive, especially for...
I don't see many people using this as a resource, this guy is a little better known in the soft glass world: http://www.theglassfoundry.com/instructionalvideos.html

These parts are for sale. The motors need to be mounted and the chucks aligned and you're melting glass. The motor mounts will take a little figuring out so you need to be handy. Don't feel...
It runs my midrange pretty damn good. I had thought of running the inner fire on my mirage and running the outter on tanks in the meantime.
That's just it, they're not quite enough for me. I have an old hurricane that needs a new compressor that might get me closer but I'd rather have 3 10 lpm concentrators.
Three AirSep-12A oxygen concentrators. Low hours. I'm stepping up to a HVLP system. I would prefer local pickup. $500 each firm. Specs can be found here:...
Is that Mike P?
It was never hooked up Sky! Just goofing around to see if it would turn well, and how it would travel up and down the ways. I made that torch back when Bill Morris was working. Not many people were...
Up and running. Just a test. Not the right torch, midrange on concentrators, but the lathe works. I still need to enclose the electronics and do some finish work. 25mm heavy wall in the chucks.

Firing with wood is really dirty and you'll find yourself moving tons and tons of it just to keep the thing not as hot as you'd like. You'll find good soft glass tech info over at talk.craftweb.com
Not negative at all Sky. I appreciate the constructive feedback. We will see how it works. Those are my concerns as well but the proof will be in the pudding as they say. Whatever this ends up being...
Found it. That looks great too.
I have not. Do you have a link?
