    it takes a little longer, but you may want to try shaping the end thats opposite the blowtube into the mouthpiece,
    then pop a hole and mount a blowtube to that finished end. then finish whatever...

    see the "rough" texture on the inside?
    that could cause cracking issues if the frit isnt melted in all the way.
    blow it out and condense it and you should be able to get it to smooth out more.

    salt city has some whips unless you want to find a used one first.

    i think if you push the bowl in the can first it is easier.
    you can spin on axis and heat an even band easier than you can once you are attached and off axis.
