Anyone blowin' in Indiana
I was just wondering how many people from Indiana are members and blow glass. The scene around here seems virtually nonexistant! Lookin to sit in on some action as I am a novice and am virtually just teaching myself through videos. If anyone is willing to let me sit in and watch them work that would kick ASS! Thanks -J

Re: Anyone blowin' in Indiana
Hey J,
I'm in Richmond. I do one-on-one classes at my home studio. Email me at info@stevesizelove.com or call me at (765) 960-5148 if you are interested.
There are other glassworkers in Indiana, but we're not in abundance. I see that you're in Lafayette. Ever check out Sharon Owen's studio and gallery - Inspired Fire? She has some world class work in her gallery and gets some of the top flameworkers in to teach there. She's had Lucio Bubacco four times in the last two years. Loren Stump recently taught there as well.
You could also bug Todd at Colored Sands Glass in Fort Wayne. Lampworkingsupplies.com. (no hyphen)
Hope that helps.

Re: Anyone blowin' in Indiana
Thanks Steve, I am going to take a class at inspired fire but I really don't think they are going to teach me how to make some of the stuff I'm going to make... hint hint! So I will probably get ahold of yo here in a couple of weeks.

Re: Anyone blowin' in Indiana
what is this hint hint stuff???
you wanna make pipes?
Maybe Inspired fire wont teach you how to make pipes, but they can probably teach you basics and probably some intermediate stuff.
That is stuff we all use everyday to make what ever we are making.
After you learn some basics, and you watch a few videos, you will be able to put 2 and 2 together and at least get something very close to 4.
Good luck, I learned watching a video of Bob Badtram(sp) making a bubbler.
it took forever and I almost wore out that tape, but you'll be able to figure it out. Keep trying
