    Default Wissmach Glass

I got an email awhile back from Wissmach saying all their glass is COE compatible, except for ring mottles.
I have tried some and it seems to work well.
Yesterday I fired some red and when I took it out this morning it had fired orange and yellow....never had that happen before...Any one know why?

What shape is the piece you fired. If it is red in the center and fades to orange then yellow toward the outside edges, it is probably a result of cooling too quickly from the striking temp to the soak temp for the annealing cycle. If those two temperature coincide, you might try a longer ramp segment from the soak temperature to below the strain point.

It was a heart on top of two layers and the whole piece turned the colors... they are w either completely yellow or completly orange...

It is generally sold as a sheet glass, either for stained glass or for fusing. I guess I never considered that sheet glass might strike- interesting. Got any pics?
