This thread was started so long ago I can't believe that someone wanted to revive it. Much happens over the years as do people attitudes, customer servie etc, etc. I've known Roass probably since 1998 and deal with ABR from time to time. I've always had great response from him and his team...ordered a couple things just last month and received excellent responsees, in stock item and super fast shipping.........thank you ABR... i say Ya!
I am NOT the authority on anything/everything, but as old as I am... and given the mistakes I've made? I've got a jump on most as to what IS right and what WON'T work!! ~CWeaver 2006

I am Really considering getting a Paragon F420 but want it wired 240v and with a mercury relay.

I know a few artist who have run them and like them.

Anyone here using one have any input?

I'm undecided with the F420 or the F130.

The manageability of a 200 pound kiln vs a 600 pound kiln is the main reason. The f240 @ 300#

I might want a F500 when I get a Samurai or a Deltmag down the road a couple years.

Im going to need help filling a bigger kiln, by myself the Caldera gets a bit cramped and getting a goblet through the enameling collar door is less then easy.

I would get the f420. It is the largest 20 amp kiln I believe. It is setup nice.

Wait a minute. You want the 240v? That one must be fast heating up.

This is indeed, a very old thread. I use ABR and will happily order from them in the future. I have had great success ordering with them and if ever anything was missing or incorrect, they have fixed it at their expense immediately. Dave has exceptional customer service and takes the time to answer questions here just to help, which is above and beyond his job at ABR. We appreciate him and his efforts.

I rarely order from them, but the few orders I have placed were completed without problem

They seem to have some stuff that's not available elsewhere

I usually order from another place since it's only a couple hours from me and I can have my stuff the next day, but I do order from ABR when I need something the other place doesn't have. Have had zero issues with them. I'm sure if you look around every vendor will have a transaction or two that didn't go as planned and the customer will be unhappy. But a company like ABR wouldn't be able to be in business as long as they have been or be the size company they are if they were bad to deal with.

Honestly, there is only one company that I've had problems with, and others have too. And they are out of business now.

They have gone out of there way to get my business.
Plenty of people recommend other places. I have never had a problem with any company yet.
Not sure why anyone would go anyplace else.

Actually I am going to order soon again.
Need a case of tube soon. Only have like 12 pieces of 25.4 mm left. But I'm making bubblers right now with 3 sizes of tube.
I will burn through another case making spoons next. Plus ornaments are in season soon too.

The theory we don't like to help people is hopefully losing steam. We are just a bunch of guys who blew glass full time, and saw a need for a glass company to specifically cater to pipe makers, which when we started no one did. All we wanted to do was help the pipe maker have a place to know they aren't getting any prejudice from. Now all the companies have lost that prejudice with the obvious money there is in the pipe game anymore. But, we like to think we did something pretty original and have brought pricing to a point across the industry that people can actually make a living with. I remember being new to lampworking and calling other companies and getting laughed at when I told them what I did, and discounts were not available to anyone of our sort.

As far as ABR, quick growth got to us a couple times over the years but we have it pretty down these days, with a great group of people working here now who really care. And we pour tons of money back into industry events with sponsorship and equipment for said events. We are as grassroots a company as you'll find. As always, people are always welcome to contact me if they have any issue and have my personal guarantee to resolve it in the most beneficial way for all involved.

    Hi guys,

Here another who won't going to buy in ABR again, very bad customer service, some errors in the customs forms... not very professional, also sent wrong colors, everything a mess in last orders..
I made more than 20 international orders and no single one more.
