New stand up skully bub and horny tugboat sherlock

Some new stuff. First one is a unobtanium sherlock, couple purple thunder frit honeycombs on this one, nice lil horn. Second is the biggest piece I think Ive made yet, double skully stand up bub, elvis red, and the honeycombs are momka grapefruit frit. I was gonna throw a bunch of horns on it but I was worried it wouldnt stand up right. Let me know what you think.

Looks great! Honeycombs look nice on it. Maybe you could of chose a different color scheme on the first one. Maybe the light blue honeycomb with a moss green.

The skull bub is sick. I wouldn't throw any horns on it, too risky. I would hate to see the stance thrown off by counterbalancing horns. Definitely a killer piece though, such an aggressive stance.

Love those combs and the shape. Only CC I can think of is to make a bigger base on that skull bub. Just blow it out a little bigger, make it steadier. You are nailing the combs though and that elvis is popping!

I was gonna make it bigger, but I had only that much tubing made and I was saving the last rod for the horns that I ended up not doing anyway. lol

Will do, the piece is still hot of course. I take pics then I fix any mistake before I sell it, lol.

I will take some more angles tho when I get to the dojo.

I think your getting an unfair shake on the first one. THe flash is making the unobtanium look wonky. I am the last person to give hints on taken the pic but I have a feeling it looks a lot better in person.

My camera sucks, flash kills the honeycombs too, I couldnt get a good focused shot of the combs for shit. Plus there is no manual focus on this cam.

Its weird too, cuz I striped half of the tube with one rod of unob and the other half with another rod and the color ended up way different lookn, you can see it on the stem.

I really love that style of skull it reminds me of the punisher skull and I love that thing, I experimented a little with skulls and came up with crapola for sure

both of those are tight. i really like the skull elvis one but it does look a little top heavy, i dont know if it actually is or not but if so some nice thick and heavy horns just around the base would fix that and not take away from the piece at all and maybe make it look even better.

not to step on your toes but i would like to see a skull tutorial myself.

Great work on those!

Its funny I think we must be on the same wavelength or something, because just last week I did two very similar pieces. The tug was my first time trying that shape , did it with cobalt tube instead of unobtainium and has two horns so it can sit flat but otherwise pretty close. I've been playing with using sculpted skulls as cans for drys and bubblers for quite awhile now, originally inspired by Ghost and Brandon on GP but I have to say they are also very similar to yours - except I've mainly been using internal frit for color, and yours look more pissed.

The last skull bub I made isn't a double or a sherlock but its red and fairly big.

My camera sucks too and I haven't bothered taking any pics in a long time but I'll try to get some tonight so you can see what I'm talking about, it was a totally unintended similarity but kinda cool I think.

the skulls are cool.. a little different then i do mine but i love skulls no matter what. cool stuff. it would be really cool if faces could be created on our skulls like they do in forensics.
