    Default Sleeved fumed/textured cobalt tube

Just wanted to show a peice I made recently using the sleeving method with the fumed/textured cobalt tube.

Basically take about 6" of cobalt tube, texture it up with a file, fume it, sleeve it in clear.

hey are those colors just from fuming?
    it looks awesome.
if u dont mind also is the stem/mouth piece part 1 tube, or did u have to weld 2 sections? i cant do tube bends to save my damn life.

Nice! have you tried the sleeve with scalloped tube? it adds lines.

Hey thanks! Yeah the colors are just fuming with cobalt tube backing it up. Normally I would make the stem/mouth piece as a separate section (part 1) but in this case I had to weld the mouth piece on separately because the thingosucked water pretty badly without it. Check the parent directory to see what it looked like before the mouthpiece was added.

I have tried it with scalloped tube before, there are a couple of spoons in my gallery like that. Was quite awhile ago though. Would link to em but GP is still down I guess

yah thats nice. have you tried other textures? i like the cheese grater for speed, you can just roll across it. if i have more time, i have a nice bread knife or something with very large teeth serrations and i make lots of cuts down the 4" lenghth of color. you get lines where the silver links in the bubles all the way up the cut but the bubbles only form in the deepest holes so its like dots on a string of lightning... hard to describe but looks wicked.

Haven't tried the cheese grater yet. Pretty much all I have laying around is that file. I can see how there would be a lot of different possiblities with different sorts of textures though.

That piece is killer for sure. Ive got a buddy here in austin that is taking metal stamps and stamping the color tubing then fuming, then encasing. Look like little fume millies. Keep up the good work.

31.7x2.4 or 32x2.8 are tight fits for a 25 i've found, if there just fumed no problem on the fit, texture the tube and the 32x2 is safer I think and it thickens slightly as it condenses, 32x2 is also cheaper than the other 2

Very nice piece. Flows nicely. The mouth piece really makes it pop too.

Yeah I am pretty sure I sleeved 25mm into 32x2ish.
