40 hours a week x 4 weeks is 160 hours, didn't you think about people who work glass full time. I work like 4 10-12 hour days a week.

Irieguy, do you sell at shows, shops, or online? I swear it takes more time than I spend at the torch to keep up with the other work that goes into promoting and selling my glass.

Sales time eats up my torch time. Haven't ever been able to torch after a day of sales.
    Torch time=happiness

Seriously man. That's why I drink so much beer. I wish I could just make it and not have to worry about the selling part.

Let's see....Andy works about 12 hrs a day....usually 7 days a week unless he has a gig and then the weekend is shot and so it is over 250/month. Then I work about....8 hrs/day....let's say over 150/month. His is torch time, mine is everything else.

Andy's shop is about 20 min away....so he doesn't get shit from me. I like it when he works at home though cause I can go downstairs for smoke breaks.

My "shop" is downstairs. Heather doesn't sweat me, much.
I work 10 hrs, if I'm set on Oxy and gas. I sit half the time, I dance around the other half.

I spend a day every week talking to people, making cash transactions, and setting up new opportunities. I should already be driving to today's spot. I LOVE customers. Keep saying that.

There's days when Heather wants to rage her Hot head and twist some Moretti delights, then I get in a 14-16 hour day.Funny how a Hot head can be louder than a Carlisle at full tilt. Monitor style headphones rock.

And anyone doubting Chris's claim about his hours, waste your time with something else. The man is a workhorse. And he stands all day.

Oh, and don't make noise outside my shop, I come out wielding a tap-off bucket and a camera

Oh my god, that is the life! I envy you that. With me it's constant photos and listing and promotion and having to answer questions... sometimes questions so mind-boggling I want to shoot myself in the eye. If all I had to do was drive to a shop twice a week... well, I'd probably complain about having to leave the house. But other than that I'd be in seventh heaven!

right now i am attempting to build strength/endurance in the spinning muscles .. so 3-4hours a day for the last 3 weeks [just gettin started]

seriously this S#$@ Hurts.. thinkin i might be taking a few days off to recover as i don't want to f'k my hands up at the start of my new profession, pullin the crippers really hurt my hands - and that was back in high school, just startin to feel it these last few years... esp when its cold

the cold wan't helping either, thankfully its starting to warm up [no heat yet] so i can get out and learn ... but thats just makin me hurt more... *sigh* well, at least i'm not havin to pay the oxy thieves to water anneal glass anymore =)

anywho. its gonna be about 7 hours a day with breaks once i get my arms working.... [weekends off - i hope]

YRR tellin me! I just woke up and thought wow I am awake at 7 in the morning and it feels like I actually got enough sleep. Then my wife pointed out that it was 7 pm, and I had been asleep for like 13 hours. Shit I guess I was more burnt up than I thought.
