How many hours a month do you work? 60+ Pole

I made a second pole for 60 hours a month and over for you full time workers.

This pole was inspired by a friend of mine and I thought it sounded like a good idea. How many hours a month do you work on your torch. This is not a competition people so please be truthfull. I myself only get a chance to work for about 30-35 hours a month on my torch.

Awe crap, I didn't see that it was torch time before I voted. I probably spend about 5-6 hours a day, 6 days a week on the torch (sometimes 7), but work my ass off doing other non-torch related crap for the business. People think working for yourself is all easy and full of slacking and it is sometimes... but then other times, I've got the longest days in the world. I'm always at work... I can't go home and forget about it. I love it any way...

Yeah I'm not going off pure torch time either since I get stuck with all the other shit now a days. But I work way too many hours, at least 60 a week. I used to work that many hours on the torch for years though. It's retarded working for yourself sometimes, no benifits, no paid vacation, but at least we don't have to listen to the man for being 5 mins late.

Very Very true Misha. I wrote time on torch but my reasoning for the pole still applies to other types of glass work or time used creating art.

I would suspect that for most of us that do this full time, you need to change 'month' to 'week'.

I agree with Glass Kitchen I thought it was a WEEK .. I averag at least 60 hours of torch time a week. I have worked as much as 112 in a week more than 10 times. I am a little relaxed right now seeing as this has been the slowest season in history, ughh and I dont have to sit at my store any longer....

between torch and off torch glass related projects, I doubt there are many spare hours that I am awake.

I work 30 to 40 hours a week on the torch...then once or twice a week go sell stuff and once a month go buy more glass....since its just selling..and not making during that extra time i don't count it.
My wife just had our baby 3 weeks ago...and since then i dont know whats goinon...suddenly i wake up at 7(cause of Wyatt...best alarm in the world) make almost twice as much since my wife is taking care of wyatt now, and finish my day at 2...Ive been doin this for almost 10 years...but never felt inspiration like this!

Often when I'm tired of the shit jobs involved with working for one's self or suddenly am uninspired to blow glass, I think of all the years of my life I wasted in factories and elsewhere working for the man!!

Well, I snap out of that real fast. Those of us the can pull off living this life are lucky as shit, no matter at what age we started. So you youngin's (and you old ones too) keep up those 80 hr+ weeks, it's totally worth it to me.

Mad props to all those paying the cost to be the boss.

wow.... im with glass kitchen.. change that to hours a week... at least 50 a week... add up emailing,photography, computer work, prep..... it seems like 7 days a week with 6-10 hour days... and that doesnt include reasearch time, sketches, phone time, shows. ..

Hey what about us poor guys that only get about 1-2 hrs/month. Sadly that is about all I get and that is usually for demoing a tech to a customer.

One day I'll get to change my 60-80 hrs/week with supplies into some time at the torch.

You can bitch about the man being a prick cuz yer five minutes late........but even if yer late most ya folks are sayin yer werking late almost excesively.......Im 25 minutes early to my "making signs for the man job" every day....and yes sometimes I put in 60 hrs a week...but usually I dont.....I always get a check......and if my car brakes down, They borrow me money to get it fixed, or money for lunch, rent ect........I sure would've liked that treatment from Timmy or full tank.

I'm the man and your the man and hes the man aswell.....so you can point that fuckin finger up yer asssssssssss!!!!!

Oh...at the torch...damn - I didn't read the text before voting, and since the closest thing I come to having a torch is a lighter, I'm not sure I should have voted at all

Well, I work fulltime with computers(full time in Denmark is around 168hours/month).

I've seen a guy give like $1000 prepay up front before the peices were done, I haven't got that deal yet but one day..
