International Glass Invitational
The Glass Craft & Bead Expo would like to present the first ever International Hot Glass Invitational!! Skilled Glass artists from around the world will come to show off their talents at this judged event.
April 3rd and 4th, during the Glass Craft & Bead expo -- Don't miss this much anticipated event!!
The International Hot Glass Invitational will be held in conjunction with the 15th annual Glass Craft & Bead Expo in the Equestrian Center located next to the exhibition hall. This 30,000 square foot, 4,400 seat arena is well appointed with 4 -72’ flat screen monitors that face all sides of the arena along with a private “VIP” bar which has seating for 250 with full bar and kitchen access. The goal is to provide the audience with the largest most dramatic glass sculptures and vessels that the timed sessions will allow. We have invited some of the most renowned hot glass flamework and furnace work artists from around the world to compete. Each team will have 2 ˝ hours to produce their works.
Schedule of events:
Friday, April 3, 2009:
5:00 pm: Doors open
6:00pm-6:30pm: Introductions and opening ceremonies
6:30pm-9:30pm: Competition begins
9:30pm: End competition
Saturday, April 4, 2009:
5:00 pm: Doors open
6:00pm-6:30pm: Introductions and opening ceremonies
6:30pm-9:30pm: Competition begins
9:30pm: End competition
Sunday, April 5, 2009: Judging and awards
