Nortel Midrange Plus For Sale
I just got a tigershark ,So now I've got a nortel midrange plus all surf mix for sale,it's a great torch for learning or if you need a back up and it's hot enough to do almost everything, just takes a little longer.one thing wrong is two blocked ports on the lower left of the larger torch face, but it's really no problem. It has right at 6 months of work time on it,I'm looking to get about $250.00.but i 'm willing to deal a little,by the way all the pipes pictured were made on it surface worked, inside out's,and lots of beads.

Re: Nortel Midrange Plus For Sale
Hey Faded, what kind of stuff are you working?like 50x5 44x4 38x4 26x4 beads or marbles etc

Re: Nortel Midrange Plus For Sale
I would guess your doing beads marbles or thin walled tube if your on a minor right now,the red is a bigger hotter torch so if you are going to be doing 50x5,hand pulling stickstacks and up a lot then the red is probably what you want but if your doing smaller stuff beads marbles 26x4 or even 50x5 occasionally then the mid range plus is what you want(a red max can be over-kill and will def use more oxy/gas,also i'm shipping from nc the red is in canada so shipping might be a lot more. if you decide on the mid range plus i'll do it for $225.00 and shipping.if you or anyone reading this have any more questions about the torch or anything else feel free to ask/i don't know everything but i know a lot of glass blowers and i'd be glad to help.bye Jace

marbles and small dry pipes. i'd like to be able to do up to 2 inch marbles. i'm working with 25mm thick walled right now. gas does go FasT.
i am kinda anal, is there a way to "unclog" ports? i'm the kinda guy that gonna have to try.
thanks.

Re: Nortel Midrange Plus For Sale
Hey Faded, jsut a side note, remember you can always upgrade the midrange to a red max. When generations runs their sales for like 15% off of everything, you can piggyback our discussion group 10% discount and get the upgrade kit for about $150. However, you would still have the surface mix minor on top (I prefer the premix myself, but that's just me).

Re: Nortel Midrange Plus For Sale
First off i need to correct myself i was pulling lined 26x4 sleaved with 44x4/ ok I called nortel and they said to free glass from ports you have to run it till it's good n hot turn off the flame and then dunk it in cold water take your poke wire poke it and blow it out with oxy,if that doesn't work you can send it to NORTEL MACHINERY INC 1051 buffalo ny 14206 he said they have a 90% success rate and it's free! the nortel guy's are pretty good guy's,downside is if they can't get it out then to replace the lrgr torch head it will be $70.00 to replace it,also this their phone number if any body want's it 1-416-438-3325/canada/ But like i said before the torch still works great, it's had the clogged ports for about the last 4 mnths that i used it.
