Ahem... please allow me to introduce Alain to the forum. He is French and *very* talented. He works in traditional montage and actually studied under Wallstab. Heads up, guys. We are now an international forum!

Kurt Wallstab was born in east germany, in the Türingen mountains where is located the town of Lauscha. After that he've gone to west germany where he died ther's 4 or five years.I've seen his pieces and him on work in the Ittig glasshaus in Wertheim where h've worked with Hans Joachim Ittig on Glass Montage which have taken on his blow pipe and transform to big pieces.

I just hung out with Hauns Ittiag at champs. I have a open invitation to go work with them. (getting my pass port as soon as I get home)

I bought his fathers 40mm and pedal a few years back.

    NicoO,

The corning library is the "Rakow library."

If you need any help drop me a p.m., I can always contact Eric Goldschmidt. He is the corning glass events supervisor. I had not known he was a phish friend , until I was a guest artist at corning last December.

My grandfather was born in Lauscha too and left Thuringia to go to Berlin in the early twenties. He was a very Talented scientific glass blower and I watched him working since I was a little child. Years later I had the oportunity to meet Matthias Klering working on a Montage. I would compare his style with Wallstabs and it was just amazing to see how "easy going" the glass was in his hands.

In the late 90's/early 00's Robert Mickelsen had a website of flameworked artists I think it was called global-flamework.com or something like that. The flamework world was much smaller then, he had about 25 or so artists represented which covered most of the big names. Anyways I downloaded them all since I was on dialup then and after a little digging I found them. Here is the images from Kurt Wallstab's gallery.
