Rich,
I love that style of marbles!
You've done good. What size are they?
I got this crazy idea to try to make a cane from my torch, cut it up into little individual pieces and make marbles out of those pieces. Here is what I ended up with for my first try. The little one on the right was the end of the cane. Like them?

small, about 1/2" in size.
Soft glass doesn't lend itself to large...lol

Looks good Rich! Is that Experimental Green #5 in there?
(Edit: Whoops, soft glass. Well, that green looks AWESOME!)
Here's a video I made about making cane marbles - maybe it'll help give you some ideas, maybe not?
(Edit: Guess you're a little short on tubing in the soft glass world too...well, schucks, I was just trying to help!) LOL

Pretty marbles!
N8 thanks for the video link.
I did pick-up some soft glass tubing a few days ago but it really likes to thermal shock in soft glass! It WAS a pain tying to get a big enough barrel of cane and not get bubbles.

The video was cool and I might try that technique with the soft tubing IF it complies!

Hi Rich, Where did you find soft tubing? So far i haven't found any. is the tubing shocking even after you preheat?
Have you ever tried fuming soft glass and does it work?
Thanks, Jerry
Practice, Practice, Practice. It's all I ever do!!
cool marbles, real earthy
It looks like you are cutting the cane into sections and then forming. You might look at parting off a section of cane by constricting the glass like would be done in a hot shop with jacks. This way your outer spiral will terminate on the side of the marble rather than leaving the outer spiral lines floating.
Still, great looking set of mibs.
cool, nive vid to.
Mike
Thanks,
Pam
