    Default New Kobuki FS

seriously considering selling my new Kobuki torch. never been hooked up and never fired. the price is what ever they cost new plus shipping( that shipping cost is what it cost me to get it to you) No trades, no paypal fees on my end either. no doubt i could it seems bump the price up do to supply and demand or just for the wait it took to obtain one. I would like to see this in the hands of a private party and will not consider the sale to a retailer for resale gains. if I find my self posting this for sale on Ebay the price will be increased.

turns out setting up a shop on the coast is going to be very harsh on my tools. if my Jim Moore diamond shears are any indictaction of whats to come, then I rather not see what this climate will do to a kobuki torch.

local sale would be best, Portland Or, or Olympia Wa.

I will post photos if need be when I head North from my place in Washington in a few days. thats where the torch is. pictures will be of torch, but not in action of course.

be a few days till i can respond. so if you have considered this torch, you have some time. again im considering this and feel the mirage will have to do.

again for personal use , and I know I cant control its resale, but if anyone is to make a profit it should be me and I'm not, so ..............

Jim Moore shears are not a good indicator. They rust as soon as you touch them.

Good luck selling that sweet torch. It'll happen before you know it.

the climate shouldn't affect the torch, its made of stainless. The Jim Moore's will rust a bit no matter what- they're made of high carbon steel, which is a good thing, high carbon holds a better edge.

yeah there are an aweful lot of gtt torches running on the west coast or florida in constant humidity and i never hear of any issues.

now my jim moore d2 cup shears litterally were rusting the very first day i used them here in good ole knoxvegas.

my delta is always exposed to same elements and it doesnt have any wear from the elements.

good luck with the sale though. i would like to have one myself.

I see lots of hot shops out here, I havent brought the mirage down here though I will. if you guys think this wont rust in a minute then that might change things. I need it I have it but ahhh hate to mess it up.

    thanks

My shop is next to a lake and west of the mountains in Oregon. It gets damn humid here. I have never had any issues running a GTT. It takes an awful lot to corrode stainless and aluminum. 60% humidity and 75deg today.

I live about a half mile from the Pacific ocean, and my Phantom still looks brand new after a coupla years use. I would not worry at all, unless your shop is outside.

I live under the ocean, in salt water - a little wire brush action once in awhile, still looks & works like new.

sometimes, while im working, my old lady will come down to the damp basement I work in and be salty enough to turn a 50# dumbell into a pile of red dust. Sometimes this leads to broken glass, but my Phantom is still shiny like new.

well going to sit on it, sorry if I jumped the gun.
the Jim Moore shears comment was not meant to be a smear of a great tool but damn they never showed signs of rust in my shop up here in washington. the nickel plating(?) having just sat a week down at the coast on a granite work bench are in nasty shape. my cup shears have always been covered with a light coat of rust. I know Jim on his site address this.

thanks the input and the reassurance

I looked at my Jim Moore shears once and actually watched them corrode.

Yup I live a couple of blocks from the water and when my moores are rusting my delta mag looks brand new... Your making a mistake selling your torch for that reason.
