Re: dusting off the cobwebs
Faded are you using 4mil to encase? I get similar effects when encasing that way.

Re: dusting off the cobwebs
No I really dig the effect. I used some green of some type, will have to look at that tag again, and coil potted it up and lined it with 4mil. I thought that they came out wonderfully and I like the encasing a little more that way. I need to get better though, I still trap bubbles.

i prefer a few bubbles here and there. i'll often entrap a few long lines of air just for effect. you can get some nice fume lines off them as they round out.

Re: dusting off the cobwebs
forgive me for probably sounding like an idiot, but what how are you making those pieces with the magic mirror? Are you laying the color onto a point, then encasing? Sorry I know the answer should be obvious, but those pieces have a different look to them.
Thanks and your work is looking real good. I love the colors.

color coil wrapped onto 25 mm clear tube then covered with 4mm clear rod lengthwise. i don't melt the color in before applying the 4mm. by leaving ridges and valleys i get more effects. i drug the color as i coated it, as well. the ends are honeycombed with the same color.

my wife and i walk the beaches here and find cool driftwood. i wrapped a few pieces together with some hemp cord and hit it with a couple coats of clear urethane. made a cool little stand for this bubbler. which now sits on someones mantel.
