I own a K-tank (250 cf) and swap it every 2-3 days, so no rent info.
Today, I paid $17.52 to swap it.
That's the best price I can get, for the amount that I use.
How much does it cost you guys to rent your tanks? And how much does it cost you to swap the empty cylinders for filled cylinders? Also say who you go through...

around here they charge $27 to swap a (160cf) it all depends on where you go and your area..there is really bad price gauging for gases around here...can't rent tanks without great credit and they won't sell you larger then 160cf....the place that will rent you any tank around here wants to charge like 50 or 60 to exchange....oxygen is my most expensive overhead right now...

$10 per k- tank.
$2.88 a K tank
own both my K's. $10.83 every fill.
damn drew thats cheap.
Its because I fill my own tanks. I would reconsider filling them if I paid $10.83
15 per K tank. Costs 15.00 to fill/exchange. I pay 45 a year to lease my tanks. I go though Maine Oxy.
My suggestions would be to open the phone book and find all the places to get oxy in your general area. Call them up one at a time and ask to speak to the sales manager for your area. Do not deal with the guy behind the counter answering the phone, he/she usually won't be able to get your price down, and will make it seem like the list price is the only price. Don't even mention your asking for the sales manager to get a better deal, just get their phone number (they're often on the road).
After you have the numbers for the sales managers for each company, start calling them. Explain that your going to be blowing glass, and plan on using quite a bit of oxygen in the future. Its OK to bend the truth a little and exadurate how much oxygen your going to be using, and tell them that your going to be in touch with all their competitors and will go with whomever can offer you the best price. When you really get started, depending on your torch and how often you use it you will be going through a rather large amount of oxygen, that fact will help you get a good price.
If your situation is anything like mine, a bidding war of sorts will start. It will probably take a few hours of making phone calls (it all depends on how many stores are in your area). Eventually you will end up with a price thats hopefully much lower than whatever you were originaly quoted.
My first tank cost me almost $60 just to fill. I made a few phone calls and now like I mentioned before I'm down to $15. I get to start the whole process over again soon as I'm switching to liquid.
Best of luck, if you can find any other glass blowers in your area, ask them what they're paying.
My truck holds 4 K tanks, I own 5. 1 place was charging me 60 for the 4 untill they got greedy and tried to charge me 80. I went to another place that hooks me up for 50 for the 4.

23 for a 337cf

32.03 a month rental for 2 k tanks. 16.03 a fill on one. . i fill once a week at least
Now I feel like I'm getting hosed...
I was paying 16$ + charges for a 150 tank when I started but the costs have gone up over the years it is now up to 29$ including charges.
$24 for a 280cf tank. Swapped.
man I'm getting screwed hard....what if I don't have ANY other gas suppliers within an hours drive? I can't exactly threaten to go somewhere else....
Do theu know ir a glassblower, stress the fact that u burn through alot more oxygen then the welder. Usually u cam negotiate a price. Ive been with airgas for 13 years now and each time i move airgas will initially ask 4 $30 per k, i simply tell them i burn through at least a tank a week and i usaully pay$18 ( it helps if u give them a figure) and they approve it no questions asked. Give it a shot.
