Thanks for the "in progress" pictures. I always wondered how you made those.

How long does it stay in that machine until it is totally round and polished?

Just google it already But seriously, this is what I do..
120 grit with metal cups - Until its round and flaw free.. 2-4 hours
120 with pvc cups - 25 minutes
180 pvc - 35 minutes
600 pvc - 45 minutes
600 pads - 45 minutes
cerium pads - 10-30 minutes, depending on the color of the glass
50,000 diamond powder pads - 15 minutes
If you leave one speck of a previous grit on the machine, your mib gets scratched. I spend about as much time cleaning as I do grinding/polishing.

Re: Bob after fusing
also not to be a jerk about it, but I know Bob's family sues over reproduction of his image. Not sure how the laws work, but be careful with it for sure

$45 from Lowes. It starts out with a 3.5 blade, but after heavy use you can use a 4", and stick a twig behind the exit point, to keep the water from splashing on you.

My wife is good friends with his cousin. Nothing could possibly go wrong.
