SEM industries is owned by my buddy who has been extremly dedicated to his glass blowing business where he runs lathes all day errday, for the past 8+ years. We talked about the design of the machine for an hour yesterday, and I'm very excited for these to come out! These machines will definantly not be "jalopys" and I'm sure all the rave reviews will hit the scene very soon...

    Good Job homie!!

I talked with Sean extensively about the lathe. It sounds great. and the passion he conveyed was great as well. My lathe is scheduled to be at my shop at the end of may. I cant wait. This company is going to be great. I just talked with sean and he sold seven lathes in austin to some of the big name guys there. And they did a high production film with sean and the lathe. Also heard he will be at the austin glassroots on 4/20/13.

The lathe looks good what kinds of fire have you put on the fire carriage?

Are you going to supply or manufacture planetary chucks for the lathe?

Why don't you demo one at AGI this year call Tom Doner for info.

My Jalopy comment was referring to the aluminum Art Lathes...I still stand by the statement 100% though

are these lathes direct drive or elecrtonically synched? the one that acroduster posted looked like it was electronically synched, if thats the case 8G seems a little steep

Yes, please give me a call if you would like to show one of your lathes at AGI. We'll have a bunch of people here that would love to try it, and you'll get lots of feedback throughout the year. My phone number is 724-791-2100

I hope to hear from you... Tom

Would also love to hear some feedback once you start working with it. They look super solid for the price.
