    Default Land's Glass

    Hello,
I though it was time for me to start one of these progression threads. I have been blowing glass on and off for a couple years, but i have been at the torch almost everyday for the last couple months. I have been mostly making fumed spoons lately. I only have pictures of my recent work but, i will get some of my older stuff, and will post some marbles and pendants up. I have been able to sell some spoons to one store, but i still have not tried any other yet. Anyways i will keep this short and get some more pictures up.
Thanks for looking, and all comments are appreciated.

    Thanks,
I make a lot of implosions. I guess i am kind of hooked on them. They were one of the first things i taught myself and, now i am seeing lots of possibilities with them. Also that was my second sherly ever made, but the bend is a little kinked and off set though.

Here is a few pendants and one pipe. I tried a honeycomb on the pipe, but I the picture does not justify it. Their is much more of a 3d look to it in person.

I tired my hand at some wig wags. The fumed ones were my second and third, the first one i made cracked after i spent to long working the mouth piece. Overall i am pretty happy with the way the ones with color came out.

I have not been doing much glassblowing lately, but now having my new torch i am going to set it up. I also set up a foot pedal, its a little messy, but works great. Now i just have to get used to working on a surface mix.

Here are my first pipes i made on the bravo. I know i had problems with overheating. I've got to remember to work further out in the flame. I also made a couple of implosion pendants trying to get a feel for this torch, but I feel like i have just taken ten steps backwards, everything feels so different.

Sometimes switching from pre-mix to surface mix will throw you loopy man.

I got me a Red Max w/ the Mega Minor a while back and I discovered that I had troubles fuming and I could not polish my bowls for the life of me so I went back to my Natty for a lot of stuff.

One of these days I will have to go back and finish that learning curve.....

Things are stating to feel much better. I have been making lot of implosions lately. I like the way they are coming out, and everyone i have shown them to likes them. Even the local bakery has offered to sell them at there store, as long as i come up with a display. I also got a NS and GA color sample packs, so i have lot of new color to try out. Now i just have to get my oxygen tank refilled, and get working.

Definite progress in the spoons. Watch the depth of the bowl vs the size of the head. You want a good amount of space between the bottom of the bowl and the bottom of the head so it doesn't clog up easily. My general rule is equal distance for depth of bowl and space underneath.

    Thanks for the tip Aymie,
I have been having some trouble overheating the bowl area before I push, but i will remember what you said. I'm thinking i am going to get a bigger bowl push though, maybe like a 3/4in one instead of the 5/8in. So many people i sell bowls to always tell me to put bigger bowls on them. Here's some of my first attempts at some stuff and puffs. I think the red one would meet your 50/50 rule, but the other one does not even come close.

I had lots of problems with heating the bowl area too much before a push. Just a small ring around the hole is all you need.

    Thanks Aymie,
I will have to keep at it.
So i took those pendants i took pictures earlier, and brought them to the local antiques store that i have been to many times before, and left them their on consignment. The lady their liked them all, and said she would try and get $10-20 for each one, and then i get 60% of that. I thought that was pretty good deal. These are my first pendant to be in a store, so i am hoping they do well, so i can keep making them.
