Hey guys, these pics kinda suck, but I didn't really take any more of this before giving it to my shopmate's girlfriend for Christmas. Will try and get some better pics of it when she is in town next if she has it with her. I really like how this one came out. First time playing with serendipity, and loved it. Was gonna post this in Fresh Out of the Kiln, but forgot to post it a few weeks ago. Figured its not too fresh now, but still has a fumed space backing, so it should fit in here just fine. The opal is a rainbow sphere from Profound.

4 types of clear on one piece.

This is a mix of Duran /sba hooks.

The biggest hook, and the comb are simax. For sure got more green/blue from simax. Simax seems to suck up the gold? (gold looks light)

The body is us33.

The silver on the us33 is very white. The gold seems to go on fast/ heavy (us33) as well. The gold could have been user error? Plus my "fume game" sucks in general. Almost as bad as my "photo glass" game.

I did see a difference. Us33 glows brighter , so connections look weird, the us33 more "red" us 33 feels a little softer too? Hard to put into words.

Overall , us33 was on par with the SBA.imo. The Duran did give a little more blue/green when you fume lightly.(compared to sba) Duran and sba are similar, but NOT the same. Duran looks super clear. Duran can take a beating and not crack... Hard to put into words. (yes my Duran is circa 2007)

The weird scratches inside my tube of us33 , left no marks behind after melting. (50mmx5)

All glass got silver first, then gold. I pre made matching fume rods. One set of gold /silver per brand of clear.
I used a torch w/foot pedal for the fume. So the flames were identical. (on off h.a. Pedal) Used a second torch for the rest of the steps. Only difference between, may have been the temperature of the clear? I would add fume right as the red disappears. Thing is the us33 glows brighter, not sure if the temperature is the same, when the glow looks the same.

I thought about posting in the us33 thread, but that thread will be lost into the void soon.

I dont have too bad a opinion on the us33. As long as the tubes look clear, and no scratches. I have no preference vs. SBA. MY Duran is better than MY sba. Ymmv? I still prefer simax for everything.

I thought I like Duran the most? Any advantage I recall from Duran, my ability now, vs. 2007, makes it a moot point.

Was gonna post some of these in the Fresh out of the kiln thread, but only the inside outs were technically "fresh out of the kiln", and this thread hasn't been posted in in a minute, so they are going here instead! Lol. Getting close to finishing this order. Gonna do a little more today and call it done, as long as I get the word to ship it tomorrow!
