A 4-Day Introduction to the Techniques and Style of Bob Snodgrass – ALL LEVELS – Nov 5-8 – 9am-6pm

This is a “hands-on” class. Lunch and Snacks included!

This 4-day class is aimed at the beginner but intended to offer a wealth of knowledge even to the most advanced. We begin with a detailed explanation of the equipment. Your first session, make color by hand, using clear glass and silver, at the torch. Making color by hand is wonderful practice for beginners, allowing you to acquire the feel for the glass and a basic familiarizing with the torch. We move on to making a marble, a pendant, and simple solid sculpture, learning skills that will serve you the rest of your career as a lampworker. Bob will demonstrate silver fume practices, decorating techniques with standard wall, medium wall and heavy wall tubing. Students will use optic molds in a variety of ways, produce Murrini with different processes and combine multiple pieces into a one piece of functional art.
