out of glass, out of gas, out of money. time to get a job for a bit and think about what i did wrong. got some inside outs ill post in the AM. not stoked where im at but im still stoked on glass and still love being here on the pot. love you guys keep it gangster yall.
Wow a lot has gone down since the last post. I've been torching as much as I can. I started working at a metal shop right after that last post, it was a gnarly job and I learned a lot but working 60+ hours doesn't leave any time for glass so i had to leave. Especially when i saw an ad for a shipping and receiving job at a scientific glass company. I already had a ton of experience with shipping glass and would be exposed to some cool stuff maybe get on the lathe. But unfortunately I haven't been able to do any torch work there. Lots of shipping, cutting and grinding glass, sandblasting, and cleaning stuff with acid tho lol.
That's where things are right now... there are going to be some big changes soon I have to prepare for. In the mean time I'm just trying to work on more designs and build my business.
nice fume and goblets!
Hell yeah man! Your doing great! Keep it up man your attitude is the driving force for your progress! I’m currently at the same spot of need a job for a bit to get the gas and glass restocked to keep on trucking but that’s just part of it sometimes!
DEFINITELY go for that scientific shop job. Even if you can’t torch there the lessons you’ll learn will be priceless! I went to Salem and got the degree and I’ll say I learned more USEFUL tricks for things I never thought I’d need so much in my first month at chem glass than my first YEAR at Salem and my first 3 years blowing glass! =]
