2014 High Times US Cannabis Cup Flameoff sponsored by ABR Imagery! 4/19-20/2014

A pretty cool thing has been added to the events at the High Times US Cannabis Cup in Denver. There will be a two day flame off for a Cannabis Cup Award. We will have an 8 torch station, manned with new Bethlehem Champion torches. So, you will not be able to bring and hook up your own torch. Everyone will compete on a Champion. Kilns will be provided also. The event winner will be awarded a US Cannabis Cup Award for Best Flameoff Piece. The main benefit will clearly be exposure. There are no cash prizes. This event is expecting well over 30,000 attendees. I would think the winner will be published in High Times as well. Entrance into the Flame Off also includes 5 tickets to the Cup!!!! This is an event designed to showcase glass pipes, and entertain Cannabis Cup Expo attendees. So, for blowers, it's a spot to blow glass in front of a ton of people, possibly get recognized with an award, and get you and 4 others into the Cup for free = a lot of fun.



It is a 2 day event, with 16 competitors. So, 8 per day. You will only have the one day to make your piece. Spots are limited and will fill fast. You can call us at ABR, and we can forward you to the event organizer. It is completely up to the folks at High Times to fill the spot. Some spots are already filled. They just wanted us to reach out to interested parties, and pass their contact info along to serious inquiries only. We are supplying torches and gas set up for the event, and are not in charge of the rules or anything. They can fill you in on that when you call, if interested.

Awesome one of my distros won a award at a previous cup. It was a piece I had made for them.
Kinda cool it got mention in a HT issue. Which is cool because on of my artistic mentors made bronze roach clips with naked people that would do naughty things to open or close. He used to run adds in HT in the 70's.

Do you know how much you are selling the demo torches for.

Are they going to be sold off with demo kilns?

The kilns are from a local shop, not for sale. Demo torches will be $1400. Used only 2 days, and will still have warranty. It's going to be a great time. Only a few spots left to compete, call if interested.

Must say, the Champions impressed outdoors with some occasionally swift winds. Really held a true flame even in big gusts. Everyone seemed to really like them. So, a good word for the Champion from the Cup.

Here are a couple pictures. I will get some more up later. It was really fun event obviously. But, there were 40,000 people walking by, stopping, taking pictures, some watching for a long time. It made for great exposure for the artists and glass pipes in general. There were thousands of people who had never seen anyone blow glass before, so that was pretty fun watching all the excitement about it.
