Recently we had a user scamming people with mail fraud on here and fb. Luckily most of the people involved used paypal or credit cards and were protected as buyers but still had their funds wrapped up for a time.

There's another thing you can do as buyers to protect yourselves - ask the seller to post a picture of a note with their name and the date of their posting along with their items in the pic.

Sellers, we ask that you provide this info along with your sales posts. It will help your transactions go smoothly.

Buyers, require this of your sellers! If they are legit they should be happy to provide this info. If they don't, keep your money!

Thats a great idea. People should hand fun with this as well. If they are legit sellers there should be no reason not to do it. There could be a gallery in here of smooth transactions maybe with creative pics. Just a thought.

also, I'd like to add that if you're buying something expensive like a torch don't be afraid to ask for a phone number to text/call
I recently bought a torch from chillrelaxglass and talking and sending pics through text was a great buying experience and made me feel really assured about the deal

Good idea would be a reputable seller badge? Ive had many successful transactions and theres quite a few people on here that I wouldnt hesitate to send money to without a worry..

what about not only requiring the dated image but that it should have to be included in the image of the torch or high value item being sold?

makes sense to me.... boromarket requires a verification pic, reddit's "Glass for sale" sections requires a verification pic, most facebook groups for selling glass require one, most other non-glass related forums recommend one. It would go a long way to remove the total scams!
