    Default GhostWorks progress

So my first time on the torch was day before yesterday. I made some really chappy marbles and half a pipe ( was a whole pipe before I "picked the hole" all the way to the bowl lol).

Then last night I made this and a few others.

    Second one from last night.

Group pic from last night. The big pipe is last one of the night.

I have a bunch of glass coming towards the end of the week I hope and I'll be goin at it hard. Thanks for lookin.

Thanks man! I'm guessing I've had about 10 hours in the last two days. Traded my Nortel Minor, a bunch of silver and a few other things for a little over 200 bucks worth of glass so that should keep me busy for a while. Should be ordering a kiln this week too. Been looking at glass hive kilns, got about 700 is budget on the kiln, maybe 800 if it were a sweet deal. Anybody know of any sales or a better kiln than what glass hive offers for that price? Thanks!

I got a paragon F120 new on sale at abr for just under $900. Love it for my purposes but I'm a hobbyist.

Made this after work tonight. I keep forgetting to flatten the bottom of the bowl... pretty much out of o2 and glass so I'll post some more later in the week when I get more o2 and glass.

If you wanna save some dough, Chubbles is your man. Got my kiln from him for 500 shipped to my front door. Its the aim96J,has plenty of space to fit a few dozen bowls and even some big stand up bubs on their side. Its analog,so you wont be able to run cycles but the stuff you make in your first six months will easily survive by just crashing the kiln.

Once you decide its time to start selling your glass you can just buy a digital controller for like 200 or make your own for less than that. In my opinion being able to add $300 to an order of clear glass is a far better investment than being able to run cycles your first six months.

So I'm looking at paying about 50 bucks a fill on my k tank... someone suggested going to liquid oxygen. What would be the advantage to this? What other options are there for me? I could see myself spending 300+ a month filling this k tank...

I would not go with liquid unless you can work pretty regularly. They will build pressure as the o2 changes to gas and vent a lot of the oxygen. Although if you see yourself working pretty regularly and can get a good deal it may not be a bad idea. I think the last liquid tank we filled was around 120. But I can get 250lb T tanks filled for 30 and that is slightly bigger than the K I think. No idea why they name them the way they do.

Called my gas guys, 65 a month for 55 gallon dewar, 180 a fill. It'll be half the cost of constantly filling ks. I can be on the torch 30 hours a week so not worried about venting.

That's a high price. I paid 300 a year and 150 a fill. For a 100 gallon dewar. Really the more I think about it the worse it sounds that's 780 a year. I'd keep looking if I was you tell them my price if that's what it takes, but really that's a joke. You could buy a oxycon and save yourself a lot. What torch are you using?

I'm in a small town in montana. They've pretty much got the monopoly on gas here... I'm on a bobcat right now but I'm sure I'll be upgrading in a couple months. The only thing that concerns me about an oxy con is the electricity to run it. Got any numbers on that?

Word! I'm gonna go talk to the gas guts tomorrow and figure out what my cheapest solution will be, probably just gonna go liquid.

Made this after work tonight from a broken p9.
