Been obsessed with stripey flowers lately, especially with UV glass. I'll try that opal encasement tech, if I remember I'll post pics!

Few bubbles and clear lines to clean up, but I know exactly what to do to clean it up

    NOT MY IDEA

This is a design that required an amazing understanding of implosion(compression) technique. Pioneered by John kobuki. I took a class from him on basic flowers / jellyfish. He didn't demo the ladyslipper, but he did talk shop when we got back to his house and kinda hinted me toward how to do the buckets. Slap your forehead 'DUH' kind of stuff

This is not for sale as john is still selling these amazing flowers and I don't want to encroach on a design that he mmm.... 'taught' me. Guess that's not the right word, but I digress. This is a gift for a good friend of mine who asked if I could do lady slipper orchids. Her favorite flower. She knows nothing of John kobuki or his work. I was happy to make one.

I learned so much fundamental from this technique it hurts. I have made two total and both times learned a good 3 important ways to shape the flower without being able to touch it

    (here's the first)

Big thanks to John kobuki and all he's done for the compression technique. These guys spend grueling hours planning and coming up with this stuff and the rest of us can come along and copy it. It feels wrong, but I suppose if it is for learning purposes (and these are not being sold) then I don't see anything wrong with giving things the ol' college try.

I'm proud of this one. Periwinkle. Zero bubbles. Onyx coating helps, but still easy as hell to boil.

Awwww yea. Low n slow. Now I just have to cut the time in fourth. Took me FOREVER

This is the best thread ever! I've spent a lot of time in here and it's really helped.

Can anyone recommend a good pink for flower compression marbles?
I know gold fume over white looks really nice, but I'm still struggling with fuming gold.
    Thanks!

The flower in the picture I'm attaching is Chinese white, super unobtainium stripes, and cobalt.
