Dag yo. Looking good! The first one is pink slyme and slyme?? Love the combo when they're deeply encased like that. Any tips for us motivated individuals??

The Orange and purple hugging that, is that an opal? , is very nicely done.

Yes pink slyme is my new fave. the only down side to it is as you see the air bubble that were in the slyme work there way out as it implodes.

and yes that is a opal in the purple and orange flower. i found if i place the opal on the maria and then the color the opal would implode much highed above the color so to keep it huged in the i left the center open put on first row of color implode in some when i put the second row of color i place the encased opal on the open area in the center being careful not to toch any of the first row of color. so as the opal implode farthur than the color it wouldn't be to far above the flower.

and as for tips practice, practice, and practice as well as understaining the fact it not just elbow up but that get the color into the maria but also the fact that glass want to be round so if you heat the whole maria to the center it will bloom deeper.

i found when i trid to do one of these it realy helped. I still have a way to go for a sellable one but it helped my other implosion.

Looks amazing as usual istandalone. Curious... Do y'all prefer rod or tube? Obviously different effects, but what did you learn flowers on and what do you currently (typically) use? What size of rod/tube? I have been using 15 mm schott rod for flowers, but tube for everything else I implode. I'd love to hear your techniques!

usually rod...i can't get them to look right on a tube, but i haven't given it enough tries yet with tubing. 28mm simax is my go-to. i usually have to skin it down a bit, so i prefer a lil larger then 1" dia rod for mibs.
i purchased Ron Bearer Jr's "implosion secrets" tutorial and it was the best $25 i've spent on glass related material imho. it's a rod compression tut, but at the end there is a tubing section along with a ton of color combos.
thank you for the props sir!

i still learn something every time i make one of these. i stopped for a couple months, flowers were "getting old" but after last night my thirst for these beauties has been renewed.

I already posted this one.. I was hanging onto it as a second for a pendant drop or something, but the more I look at it the more I like it. The parts I didn't like cause it was out of whack or whatever kind of look like motion. Flowers aren't all perfect in nature. would love to make some very realistic flowers and different specimen etc... I've seen some people do some amazing things with flowers recently it's just unreal

Try twisting a bit of it up as if you were mixing two colors before you pull your stringer. You can get a lot of the air to come to the surface this way, and remove it before you add the color to the piece.

I do everything on a rod and have a hard time getting nice images when I do tube implosions. However, if you are going to do any tube implosions, you might as well play with implosion milli as well.

I have had the best luck so far with 'ol China white. You gotta baby it for sure, make sure it never gets super white hot. I get a base heat goin on the maria, take it out of the flame, wait for the dots to cool (i'll blow on them sometimes) and do a push. The idea is to plunge the white into the clear, slightly encasing them. It makes the dots have a slight point to 'em when imploded and I find that it helps to keep them from boiling.

I want to develop my skill so I can replicate specific flowers too. I have this idea of doing a gallery piece of native flower species.

I think I will try to encase the crayon rod in clear before pulling a stringer and seeing how that turns out as far as boiling goes. I can get it laid down clean but it bubbles as soon as I start compressing it into the disk.

pretty sure it will still bubble, its mostly about the amount of heat used. try using a oxy rich flame, take your time with it.
    you will shank me later
