Re: Herbert Arnold 114/2 a ESL Zenit 40mm and 50mm SALE! SALE!
What would be the result of running one of these torches with Propane instead of Natural Gas?

I don't know. I will try this torch with propane. And make a video of the result.

Re: Herbert Arnold 114/2 a ESL Zenit 40mm and 50mm SALE! SALE!
Is there a reason you never Run the smallest stage on the 40mm video? I saw you did a similar thing in a old sales thread. You light stage 2, and dial it in small as it can go with stage two still lit. Just never the center alone? (I could be wrong)
EDIT: it DOES look like you cycle all stages? my apologies if that's the case.
It looks like you run the 50 on the smallest stage? ( I don't own a 50mm I could be wrong. )
I know sometimes stages can leak. (Excess gas when set to the smallest flame) I Am not talking smack. Obviously they are used, and "as is" at a fair price. Just curious if it may need more than just a adjustment by the new owner. ( like cleaning leaky timing valves?)
^this does not appear to be a issue on these torches. Maybe the 50 leaks a touch?
If you do tune them for propane pre shipping , that's a nice bonus for a new owner. (if that's what they are looking for)

I believe he is talking about the sound. Its loud, from heavy 02.
It could be a lot of things. It may just be the small 02 limiter hand wheel is too far open? <I may be totally off.
Under the cover is the stage timing. 02 is limited by the top hex, and the small hand wheel ( I know you know already)
What pressure was the 02 set to?
What pressure is the propane set to? Will you include a propane regulator/pancake? My lady is in love with my (her?) esl. I am looking for another.
I ran .40 propane, and 38 psi 02. I have slowly turned down the 02 psi. I am at 33psi? now, I feel like I get a little more flame variation in the normal range, with a less touchy 02 hand wheel..
I know J has used the .75 propane pancake, with 38 psi 02 in the past. ( When he tuned my friends , the first one Jason ever officially converted.)

Re: Herbert Arnold 114/2 a ESL Zenit 40mm and 50mm SALE! SALE!
I swear to satan that I am buying one of these after august sales, summer sucks for glass down south. I have never gotten to mess with one of these, but they are super intriguing to me. I damn near want to offer my delta up for both of them. these torches look like they run very rough in video, so I am assuming they would need to go straight to jason for refurb and conversion. I have just one friend with a herbie, and it is a 65 propane, and it does not run rough like these, of course he uses alot of compressed air. but I am curious if there should be that much popping and distortion in the flame?? I am an isolated glass blower, I only see my delta and the my buddies phantom run on a regular basis. If no one else does, I might buy one or both of these torches at the end of august. I will damn sure be looking for one in the future though, very interesting torches.

Re: Herbert Arnold 114/2 a ESL Zenit 40mm and 50mm SALE! SALE!
It's multiport.
All single hole h.a's have a red needle valve right where the gas line barb enters the torch. Not the red lever, but a red top needle valve for the ceter. Looks just like the upgraded blue center oxy needle valve.
I just saw the first single hole Ng h.a. On facebook yesterday. I did not think it even existed. But they do now. The torches were brand new.
From face book... They are NG.
