Default Phantom, Mirage, Aim 1316D Kiln, Hood, Glass, & MORE

Hey there, everybody. I have not been around these parts for quite some time. Life being life and all.

It's been over 18 years since we started blowing glass, but over the last year or so, we have been focusing more on other business opportunities and less on producing glass. It's gotten to the point where we needed to rent a space for pallets of product or rent a space for our glass stuff. We decided that our best option is too free up the space that our glass equipment is currently taking up. We will eventually set up a shop at a rental space, or worse come to worse, in 4 or 5 years when we finally move to what is now our second home. Either way, it just made sense to get rid of some of this stuff if we are going to tear it down.

I think we will be keeping most of the smaller stuff (glasses, hand tools, etc.) that can be easily packed away or we might want to use before we get another shop set up. I will go through the hand tools and stuff later and add some things that we no longer want/need. But most of the bigger stuff is on it's way out. The torches as well. Just seems silly to have them stored and not being used.

We are located in the Redding, CA area. I will be updating this thread with photos, prices, condition, and more info. Some of the prices I haven't determined yet.

So here is what we have up for sale...

    (1) GTT Phantom $1100 shipped and insured [SOLD]
    (1) GTT Mirage with Marver and Smutboy Footpedal with oxy bypass $1650 shipped and insured [SOLD]
    (1) Aim 1316D Kiln with Fuji controller and spare relay $650 (will not ship)
    (1) Stainless Vapor Hood $150 (obviously not shipping this)
    (1) Central Pneumatic Blast Cabinet $30 (probably not shipping this) [SOLD]
    (2) 100lb/25 Gallon Propane tanks $30 each (not shipping)
    (1) Victor Oxygen Regulator with flashback and "Y" with valves [SOLD]
    (1) Praxair Propane Regulator with flashback and "Y" with valves [SOLD]

Not sure on the glass, as far as shipping. I suppose it depends on the situation and what is wanted. I would obviously prefer not to ship it, though. Some of these numbers are estimates, I can get specific on pounds and piece numbers later, just wanted to gauge interest before I got all crazy. Prices will be below market. Make me an offer if you see something you want/need.

    (14) Tubes 32x4 SBA
    (6) Tubes 32x2.8 Schott
Assorted Rod 2/3/4/5/6/8/16mm sizes Some full/nearly full cases, others smaller amounts. Most is SBA, a couple sizes (5 and 8?) are Asian.

Here are the photos of the Phantom. It is in excellent condition. Candles are all super even, valves are nice and tight.

Here are the photos of the Mirage with marver and footpedal.

I got this a while back from someone who did not know how to take care of it. It is a super early Mirage. When I got it, the outer fire had several clogged ports. I managed to get those all working well by using an ultrasonic bath and dental/root canal files , and blowing compressed air through it. I also removed the hoses, which were very damaged. I did not order a hose set, I just made my own. The front and back posts are different sizes coming out of the torch where the hoses connect ( I believe that on later models, the front and back are the same size). I used regular hose cut to length, rigged up an adapter for the smaller posts and used regular hose clamps. At the bottom of the hose leads, where you will attach your hoses, there are again hose clamps and simple plastic barbed connectors. The paint on the base was in rough shape, so I sanded it down.

The inner fire didn't have extremely clogged ports like the outer fire, but the candles have never been even. I wondered if the very early models were not up to the same exact specs?? The ports seem to be not perfectly uniform, creating the issue. I would imagine that if you sent it in, they could make it much better. I figured that the torch is worth $1450 and the marver and footpedal add another $200 in value, for a total of $1650 including shipping and insurance.

Here are photos of the kiln. I bought it new, but can't remember what year exactly. I know I did not live in this house yet, so it was sometime between 2005 and 2006. Roughly 10 years old, I guess. I don't know if they still make this model or not. I think the new price was $1300 back then. I want $650.

It is 240v, 15 amp. There is no plug, I have it hardwired. Interior measures 13Lx13Wx16H. Exterior dimensions are roughly 20x17x24, excluding the box with Fuji controller and wiring, which is a 6LX6Wx17H tower mounted on the side.

Regular "microwave" door with flip ups. I have some extra fiberboard I will throw in for replacing the flip up doors when needed. Also have a spare relay I will throw in, and I guess the kiln furniture too. It is nice when you are producing a lot of pieces and don't want to stack them right on top of each other.

The brick is loose in the door and the ceiling, but has been that way for years. I was waiting until I absolutely had to replace it and it just has never gotten to that place. There is a crack or two in the floor as well and the brick is worn where the points would sit. I absolutely will not ship this thing.

Here's photos of the hood and the blast cabinet.

Hood measures 4 1/2' x 8 1/2' x 18"deep. The exhaust hole is 18" and sits off toward one end. I had an adapter collar made for the exhaust that reduced it down to 12" that I can throw in with it, along with the hardware I rigged to hang it. These things are ridiculously expensive. I got a steal on this 10+ years ago for somewhere around $350. I'll take $150 (obviously not shipping it)

Blast Cabinet is an old Harbor Freight model. The light doesn't work, because the plug is bad (it tested negative for continuity). $30 sound good? Don't want to ship it, either.

...and finally, here are photos of the propane tanks, oxy reg setup and propane reg setup.

There is an extension on the tank side of the oxy reg so it would fit better with the liquid tanks I was getting.

If you are interested in the regs, I don't want to take the pieces apart. I'm not charging extra for the pieces. You will just have some extra parts if you can't use the flashbacks or Y's with valves. Make me an offer if you're interested.

    Updates...

Kiln is still available, bandgabe decided it wasn't going to work out for him.

Muse passed on the Mirage but someone else has expressed desire to purchase it. Payment pending. There is another behind him if that falls through.

Haven't heard back from burton13 on the Phantom, but I hope to clear that up by tomorrow. There is also someone else that I trust a lot who offered to purchase it in a week once his funds are together.

Someone has expressed interest in purchasing all the glass, but I need to figure out what the price would be. Will update as it unfolds.

Regs are spoken for just need to figure shipping and receive payment after that.

    Everything else still available.
