hmmm. i'm fairly confident that i could pull that off with a wet saw. that's my guess.
Using soft glass to design cracks sounds fun haha.
This is cool, and weird. I would also guess wet saw but I like the concept of soft glass thread better. It sounds way more fun.

to do a "spin trail" with a soft glass gather would be easy as pie....i may need to try this!!

i would saw around it to make a spiral cut then heat it evenly to let it drop slightly and polish the edges at same time
We've got a few in our studio (broke the big one two days ago whoops) almost 100% you just blow a massive bubble, super thin, then flame cut it with a high oxy flame. I'll ask the lads when I get to the shop today.
Oooooh!! Challenge?
I know, for sure, 100% I promise promise promise,
Its made by using a small hot sharp flame, and you flame cut the hole/spiral
pinky swear?

Can you show us?

it not a saw, ive seen a couple pe0ple make these, blow bubble paper thin and use an oxy flame to cut around!
yup thin bubble flame cut enjoy
Well using oxy to blast into a thin bubble is the dumbass approach . make a proper thickness bubble and wip out the old wet saw and 5 min later BAM spiral Xmas ornament. Spend 2 min polishing sharp edges in flame and ull have a perfect finished product and not one with wavy edges like pic posted. A for effort F for fubaring a rookie project.
^a dumbass approach?? That's just how that is done plain and simple.
