DESERT FIRE - A Collaboration & Celebration of the Tucson Glass Scene Feb 5 - 7 2016
I'm very excited to announce a new event from ABR and The Arizona Project. Desert Fire will be a 3 day collaboration of Tucson artists, and artists with roots in Tucson. Artists will be making pieces together, many of which will go to benefit local charities in Tucson. We are very lucky to have the many great friends we have made from Tucson over the years. Many of these people are contributing to the event, and we are humbled by all the generosity from the artists. A big shout out to Micah from Fathead Glass and Mr Heads Bar, the event host venue. We have great local food trucks on board, beer and liquor promos from several companies, and raffles for prizes that the proceeds of which will also go to charity. This is in large part due to his efforts locally in Tucson. We have the city of Tucson on board, and they have agreed to do a press release for us. We've been picking up a lot of good energy, and we are really looking forward to it. Now, down to the details.

We are excited to announce our beneficiary charity for the money raised at Desert Fire. Emerge! is the largest provider of domestic abuse prevention services and programs in Southern Arizona. Their programs include an emergency shelter, housing program, outreach and advocacy centers, as well as prevention, education, and volunteer programs
Their mission statement says it all.
"Emerge! Center Against Domestic Abuse provides the opportunity to create, sustain, and celebrate a life free from abuse."
We will be raising money for Emerge! in conjunction with a program they utilize called A Window Between Worlds. AWBW uses art workshops as a therapy tool for children and adults who have had trauma or violence in their lives.
"A Window Between Worlds envisions a world where safety, healing and hope replace violence, silence and shame; where art is a catalyst to release trauma, build resilience and ignite social change to end domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault and intimate partner violence."
Please check out these great charities online, and come support this great cause by attending our event. We will have donated art for purchase, raffles, and many more ways you can help. If you want to donate art to be sold for the charity, we will have a table at the event for those items to be donated, displayed, and sold.

Just a few days away.......... Sick collabs with Calm, BMFT, Grimm, Mazet Studios, Zombie Hand Studios, Matt Bain (Know Ego Glass), Brian Jacobson, Shuhbuh, and many more friends! Really pumped on this one. I've had this idea a while, and it's taking off. Very gratifying to see all the support we've gotten. Hope to see some TMP folks there!
