Yay!!!
That's right AGI is back there was such great response at last years event the decision was made to let a team of artist run the event and take the work from Tom and Elaine. Last years event brought back memories of some of the first event I attended at AGI. The enthusiastic response of the attendees was wonderful, everyone pitched in to keep the event running smooth.
AGI will be held the 2nd week in August prices are the same as last year go to the web page for more info.

Also I wanted to say that I agree on last year really being fun and fresh with lots of new people asking lots of questions and busting out amazing work all over the Wonka wonderland.
If you are on the fence as to whether this is a good value, don't hesitate to get in on agi.
Honestly there never has been and never will be any other single event that gives so much to the lamp worker and ask so little in return.

I might actually be able to afford it, this year!
Ah snap I am so happy you guys decided to do this .
I was having a complex last year.
But just like the classic bands that always come back for one more round you did it .
I am a sight manager for one of our big festivals but what time of year is it .
We have a total eclipse comming and what's wierd is the line of total eclipse is running into my friends shop . 2017
Then what's really nuts is another total eclipse crosses from another direction and our little town is in the cross hairs .
A nasa guy showed up in town 5 years ago and told us it's such a rare thing . Crazy gave odds .
If I miss this year I think it might be during our town of 400 Holding 7,000 people .
And we are dedicating a 150 year old building in town this August and I am on the commite .
I bet it's smack dab in one or both of these things my luck .
But to the point I would buy a bench ticket full price and show up early for set up or to be low man on set crew .

Just bought my Golden Ticket! First one sold! Big, big props to Scott Hallam for taking up the mantle and keeping this event alive.
Got an A ticket this year. Now I just need to figure out how to fly with my torch and tools. Any tips, tricks or general advice from people with experience flying in/out of flameworking events would be greatly appreciated.
Pack everything in a hard sided case, put a flyer about the event and a print out about the torch/equipment on top where it is seen when TSA opens the box...and the WILL open the box. Take a photo before you close it, and I also strongly suggest opening and inspecting the contents at the arrival airport and taking a picture in case there are any damages. Make sure to vent/drain your hoses well. Not a bad idea to leave the propane hoses disconnected to air out for a few days before you travel if that's an option.

Or just buy new hose I notice even if aired out a change in humidity or heat brings the stink out again . Well not so handy with gtt hoses

Yeah, it's still going to stink for sure. And the stink seems to be what freaks them out. New hoses is a good idea if you can swing it.

Thanks Aymie.
Residual odorant in my lines wouldn't even have occurred to me. I've got plenty of new hose I can bring.
Including a printout about the event and the equipment is an excellent idea. I'll type it up slowly and use small words so the TSA agents will be able to read it.
I'd love to attend if I got over 30 miles per gallon. At least my last tune-up fixed my 8 miles per gallon hang up!..
You can also mail your stuff ahead of time, and they can help mail it back your way usually. But ya def get new hoses, or ask maybe they will be selling them there so you don't have to transport them, at least one way. The propane always freaks TSA out.
Another good idea, if you do fly with your tools, leave a note for TSA explaining what they are and asking them to please be careful.

I put my deposit down for my 2016 A ticket. I enjoyed my self and learned a lot last year
and hope to do the same again this year.
It saddens me I won't be able to make it this year. I wish my AGI family nothing but the best - have lots of fun, learn lots, and enjoy! Tom and Elaine, I hope you will save me a seat in the Lafler for 2017. Much love, Tracey
Just grabbed me a ticket. So excited!
