id like to find scissor arms or parts to build the scissory extension part.

some items that may prove useful:
    coat rack
    scissor lab stand
    random hardware parts
    cheap lamp

id love to find an industrial or commercial item that uses these types of scissory things.

id buy premaid rollers like this if they were relatively affordable. herbies are just way too out of my budget,,, i bet theyre smooth as eggs tho.

the herbie siz roller is bad ass and worth the buy. The roller wheels are super nice.

I know a guy who has 1 and has used it on large work for at least 15 yrs. Herbie makes some good tools!
Maybe see if Grainger or a local machine shop can help but why reinvent the wheel!

that does not look too hard to make, 14 pieces of metal all cut same length, & holes drilled same locations, 7 of which have small nuts welded to back, 23 shouldered bolts, so when bolts tightened the shoulder will seat on the nut, & will allow the arms to open & close. sorta free floating & the bolts just hold all in alignment, but not clamping tight.

should be able to find a shaft like for an axle, or small shaft thats machined & would allow free movement up & down. then a bushing to slide up & down axle, with an ear to mount the scissor to? or weld a tab to it. then maybe a hollow shaft, or axle to mount moveable rollers & just need to fabricate a couple locking rings.

Those mirrors are likely to be made of much thinner metal and may not hold up like the HA stands. That said, any local machinist could probably make those pretty cheap (the scissors).

I have a HA roller set, on a fixed base, no scissors, they're awesome.
