Aerospace industries has some I sane nice scrolls and they make adapter for most all lathes.
I've become aggravated in my Chuck search. I might just sell my U. All I have are 32 MM scrolls but the bore of the scroll is only 30.
Well if you are interesting in selling your U, Hammer, let me know. I could have a buyer for you by noon! Stroker did show us the newer aerospace chucks. Those giys will provide an adaptor for most any spindle on most any models of lathe. Plus they are cheaper than new chucks from Litton, whose max opening is 50mm.
Yeah I've been on the u lathe chuck hunt for a bit.. Not much luck.. I've got a couple extra 32 mm bore scrolls, but the pass thru is only 30mm. If yah find a stash of used chucks let me know..

My friend/shopmate has an HSJ and bought a set of those cygnet aerospace chucks. I also have a machine shop and can say they are a really nice set of chucks for the money. They operate smooth, spin accurate and are made to easily replace parts when they are worn. My only complaint is I wish they made different sizes, for say an F lathe and maybe a larger size too. I hope they stay around!
I don't think you will be disappointed. Post a pic when you get em mounted if you can, I would love to see a U setup with them.
Hands down nicest chucks I've used
