    Default The Blast Shield Company

Wanted to review the transaction i just had with the blast shield co.

I screwed up my order on MGA... there are no pictures and i cant be expected to understand words... come on! ahhaha

anyway i ended up with just a piece of glass. no mounting hardware. Called them up. They put together a package for me. paid / shipped /rock and roll.

    Thanks theblastshield!

I have a related story. A few years ago I contacted TheBlastShield because I had the hardware and just wanted a piece of UV/IR shield glass. They kept asking me for details like what I was going to use it for and for what equipment.

I finally ended up getting my glass from MGA.

Love the blast shield. I have ordered from them multiple times, always happy with my product and their service.

Yes, MGA sold me TheBlastShield product. It is the only company I've found (well, actually, I think I found another once, but don't remember now) that offers the UV/IV sheet glass and I did order it as a BlastShield product. It was easier to get just the optional plate glass item from MGA than from TheBlastShield.

It was a few years ago so I don't remember exactly, but currently the glass is $45 on both TheBlastShield site and at MGA, and that sounds about what I paid.

Thanks for the info. Has anyone else had the coating fail? I have two of them and both have hazed over. They start at an edge and just spread across creating a haze that makes them impossible to see through clearly.

have yet to use mine... but when i spoke to the rep at the company she did mention that its harder to see through the coated one. but that sounded more like an everyday thing. not something that go worse ovr time.

If anyone's got an extra sheet of glass, I'll buy it. Mine bit the dust last week. I cracked in my first two weeks of melting because I rested a hot punty on the edge accidentally while adjusting my flame and it finally gave out. Once it did, I realized how much I enjoyed having it hahah

    I love my torch marver.
I would have ordered the joint tools without wooden handles. My handles came off from heat but the tool works fine without it.
