Fun, did you try coil pot hollow beads?

I didn't try any coil pot beads. I just got a Cheetah. My wife and niece have some interest in making beads, so I'm gonna give it a whirl.

Totally forgot to put the silver fume in a reducing fire for a bit. My biggest delight in moving up to a bigger flame was getting a good fire polish on the surface of the marbles. I learned a lot on that HotHead but dang, the dissapointment was real. I worked all boro for my very first tank of oxygen except the last few minutes. This was my first time melting boro, I was so impressed I didn't even want to mess with soft glass. But the last few minutes of the tank I made a soft glass marble. I had a hard time controlling the glass if was so soft I'm confident in shaping the marbles. Gonna focus on techniques now. I plan to perfect mushroom marbles before I revisit compressions or vortexs.

I've made about ten mushroom marbles so far. Almost got the knack of it. Some of the caps look really well formed but the color is too thin. I have some Eclipse on the way. I think having some better opague colors it gonna make a huge difference.

I nailed the cap on this one. Maybe a little too much cap. Gotta work on my photography, because this Triple Passion looks way better in hand.

If I can consistently keep getting forms like this I'll feel like I have this mushroom technique down. Gonna try to get a little more clear under the stem and see how that looks.
Now to start puzzling out flame striking some Triple Passion.

Got an ok twist by using a tighter flame to help control where the heat soaks in. This was from Lesson 5, the window swirl, in Torchworked Marbles. I think I over twisted it some though. Really stoked to have worked Sno White with no boiling or scum. So stoked that I tossed a quarter pound of Lava onto my last glass order!

That Revere one-hitter video makes it look way too easy! I think an L marver might help some. But mostly I believe I was using too big a flame and/or soaking in too much heat. Dichroic was not too bad to work with. I had no idea it would scum where it was exposed on to the surface, I was thinking it would just burn off clean.

L marver helps, tiny flame....I never made this type of one hitter like that so I made 300 the last week.I fume the clear blank and add some dots 2.50$ a pop .I liked doing them,if there clean they all look good.I snag the blanks out to fume them with a metal rod after got a ton stacked in kiln.Looking good!!Keep heat/flame off the dirco side. One side is glass and other is metal,if flame heats the metal side it burns out the bling.

These are the first few spoons I've made. There are two blobs not shown.
Vortex marble turned out more like a dome but the dichro was ok. Now that I feel I have the mushroom mastered, I'm going to
work on mastering galaxy marbles. Backing it in black gives me some trouble, though.

Oh yeah! I might glue a magnet on there and stick it on the fridge door.

    Spoon #7
I think I am getting all those air bubbles in the dichro by pushing the dichro too deep when encasing the coating side. Then when I go around with clear to seal it, I am melting clear into a V shaped channel rather than riding along a 90 degree angle.

Slapped together a lightbox this afternoon. What a huge difference. Gonna build another one and take my time with it, now that I know it works.

Couple of new marbles. Gotta try a few more kiln strikes to see if a little more blue will come out of that silver fume.
