Default Any interest in table mounted torch stands

Setting up a new shop and made this torch stand. It's attaches under your table. Goes in and out. Up and down and you can turn ,spin, your torch left and right. Thumb screws make for quick adjustments. The pad for torch could be made any size. They could be painted or powder coated or left raw.

Just checking interest. If there is 10+ people that would buy them I would start the process. I have to buy them from my day job and I have not checked on price yet, just made two for me. Would like to see them under $200. If this happens a percentage will go to the forum.

    Thoughts? Ideas?

Sorry if this isn't in the right spot

Looks cool! You could probably do something similar with 80/20

To be fair, the JR stand appears to be of much lighter construction, it's only for GTT torches, and I suspect that's due to weight restrictions as much as the size of the foot plate.

Thanks chase, Been stupid busy. Screws to hold in place, I have 3 in mine but could make it anyway someone wanted. Two pieces of angle in the front and one piece of straight alum in the back you can see in pic.

I just sat on the one that I have mounted for a guest. 240lbs. Surprised the two wood screws in the front held lol

Very sturdy alum 1/8th wall. 1/4 plate for torch. Mig welded by me.
the under $200 was if you wanted it powder coated. I'm not sure what he charges for paint or powder coating.

Ok screw the 10. The two peeps that want one, let's talk. I'll get info on how you want it made and get these two made.

I would need to know how big you want torch plate. Round or square. I have a square for my nortel. How you can mount it in the back. Like mine or different.

On a mostly related note, how is a stand like this used?

I've only ever used a torch fixed to the table, so it's not immediately obvious to me when someone would want or need this kind of mount.

I guess it's not really clear to me if this is a special purpose tool needed for some task I don't perform, or something much more general purpose that I just don't know the proper use of.

Its kinda like adjusting the mix on a good stereo. You can fine tune it how ever you want. I like that can sit or stand from the same table. Or if you need somewhere to stand

You could cut the cost to well under a $100 if you were willing to use mild steel instead and still turn a profit. To help appeal to more people. It seems like a main concern was the high price tag for I'm guessing just standard 6061 aluminum square stock and some tubing.

Also twist you can buy the stuff to make jr's stand from any machine parts website for about $30 if you know what your doing. Jr stands don't seem to involve much or any welding where as Tony had to weld all this up

This looks awesome! Id prob rather have paid the extra to scoop one of these instead of my JR stand. The JR is great but one thing I don't care for is the 'wobble' factor when im raising and lowering my torch whereas this prob wouldn't b an issue with this build. nice shit!

Added the angle piece. It goes in the holder and has a holder. Can go up from bottom or drop down into. I have mine dropped down and not tight so I can swing it to give me side torch access with out moving.
Think I'm going to call it "the stiffy". These are just so cool I think I'm gonna have the only two made. I don't care what you try to trade me or offer me in cash you just can't have a stiffy, sorry 😐

I like it, I build must stuff for myself though but a good sturdy versatile stand would be sweet.

At times doing stuff like ISO I wish I could turn my torch and work from the side.

You make them they will sell. no doubt.
