Another flower attempt : )
Thanks! : )
Another flower attempt : )
A couple of wine stoppers
Flower marbles are hard : )
Mine tend to "telescope" upward, stretching out vertically instead of blooming open.
Any advice? Thanks!!
elbow down, keep it more horizontal when imploding, not so vertical. Maybe stretch it some first with more of a downward angle, then flatten it by using less angle, pretty much horizontal. experiment with the angle and see what happens.
usually get it to bloom as you press lightly on the marver to flatten it. by the end, you dont need to press much at all, just the weight of itself will be plenty.
My best flower so far, woohoo!
Thanks for the tips. I also read and re-read this thread http://www.talkglass.com/forum/showt...-power!/page21
and got the implosion tutorial from Ron Bearer.
All that helped. Still lots of work to do, but feel like I'm making progress : )
awesome kelly. i need to find a colorado lamp worker that makes nice flowers and go watch them once
Thanks!!
I really want to take a class with someone good in person, too.
Does John Kobuki do classes any more?
Without love in the dream
It will never come true

Thanks!
A couple of marbles and a wine stopper.
First try at a paperweight.
Another try at a floral paperweight. Having trouble getting these round, they're too big for my marble molds.
Have a bigger mold on the way : )
