i've got a tendency to see dust or things floating in the air (not in the studio) and have a tiny panic response thinking its bubbletrash or a stringer lol
So I was carrying out the recycling items and dropped a champagne bottle onto the terrazzo ( concrete) floor. ( just had our 30th anniversary) It shattered into so many pieces, even powder size pieces. The first thing that came out of my mouth was, " well damn, that sure wasn't annealed!"
What are some of your thoughts that pop out that only glassblower's would understand?

When you are eating mashed potatoes and corn and you take a gather of taters and roll onto the corn like it is frit.
More of an action than a thought, but I find myself doing it a lot. Lol

playing in the honey pot, pretending it's a crucible of 104 clear lol. lets see how big of a "gather" i can come up with lol.

Thousands of people read my threads now. So I’m trying to not embarrass myself.
- Any time I see new Pyrex glass products in the store I get slightly sad knowing it's not made of borosilicate.
- Whenever I buy cheap new drinking glasses, I examine each one to find the most uniform lips and even/undistorted walls.
Edit: Interesting video about Pyrex cookware https://youtu.be/2kxTtnPGHSo

i've never taken toasting marshmallows on the fire as seriously as i do now.. it's second nature to spin it evenly, and to be sure you heat the back side of the marshmallow by getting that heat behind it.
thing is.. i kinda hate being by fires now that i stare into a fire all day long. ah well.

i think for most people stuff is either hot or not. i think just being familiar with how things react at 300 vs 500 vs 1000 vs 1500 etc. spontaneous combustion and all that.
anything made out of glass becomes a puzzle that my brain has to figure out how it was made. or at least come up with 3 good guesses.
I never thought that I would spend this much time spooning instead of forking (fucking)
May I live like the lotus, at ease in muddy water

- anytime there is some kind of gritty texture to my food I assume its glass, regardless of where i am
- I grab hot stuff all of the time with bare hands and it freaks people out (i.e. grabbing stuff out of an oven)
- most people can't handle the heat of the water i wash my hands and clean stuff with
- I often call colors by their glass name, especially car colors
- I also examine drinking glasses but I do it pretty much everywhere I go
Whenever i go to a restaurant i examine the bottom of the salt and pepper shakers. I haven't come across one with an even bottom yet =P
I hate seeing the imported pipes in every gas station.
I am with yiz on the freaking people out with acclamation to heat .
I grab shit out of oven .
I test my BBQ grill by laying my hand on it .
My smoker I can read to within 10 -15 degrees by taking a wet finger and swiping it on lid and watching how long it takes to evaporate .
I try not to get crazy explaining glass shit to non glass people .
It took me many years to let them not care lol
Lampworking the road that never ends, Until your out of gas!
