A tribute to some of my heroes and mentors in the industry
I made this piece at pipe classic 13 earlier this month

    PipeGeist

what will be remembered 100 years from now?
what will remain, and what will it mean?

As the glass pipe movement has evolved, certain pipemakers have contributed styles and designs so novel and iconic that they changed the conversation of what a pipe is and what it can be

quite often when one thinks of a pipe, the function is of primary importance.
but by removing the function and decoration inherent in most glass pipes, the only thing that remains is the essence of the form.

This installation is a representation of iconic "pipe" forms, how they might be displayed one day in museums, and how we will be remembered

heres some action shots from the competition https://imgur.com/a/h3nly8L

for those interested, prints of this piece are available here https://mikeramanglass.bigcartel.com/product/pipegeist
