yeah, i'm not educated/well versed on the properties of boro and whether or not it'll hold a static charge, but i do know that when i rubbed the cooled off bubble on wool & denim, i did in fact get significantly more silver shavings to stick to the walls of the bubble. but in all honesty, all it took was a very slight tap on the work bench (or marver, or torch etc) and all the silver that was stuck, fell right off into one pile.

i also meant to add this to my original post on this thread, but i also experimented with spraying a very fine mist of water inside the bubble (once cooled, obviously) and then sprinkled the silver shavings into the bubble. the water/mist did a really good job of keeping the fine shavings where i wanted them, and when I reheated the bubble to implode (or just work the silver in) "most" of the silver did stay where i put it even after the water had long since evaporated off.
i'll also mention that i used distilled water for this, our tap water has way too much shite in it and left weird mineral deposits on the glass.

hey dude, ths is the kind of conversation we need to be having, I am learning a little something and don't mind being wrong. I guess I was just assuming logically that nsulators would not hold a charge, but do remember that a part being made on my og lathe was a resistor, and it was made from a type of glass that conducted electricity clearly.

Ok not bad results using the technique you described. I think if I stretch it out and use a little less I can get a subtle fumed effect , maybe implode some amber purpled in first then the silver technique on top then back it with black , that’s what my next attempt will be anyway , but all in all not to bad for my first trial .
