I was looking at this one, what do you think https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Glass-blowin...KqPQ:rk:2:pf:0

I was going to buy it but decided against it. I've been looking for a minty vintage CC with 5hole myself.

those are hydrogen torches and they require you to change the valves, the stock ones are super shitty

I know it has non piloted center fire... (For use with hydrogen)

However I was under the impression all cc style torches from the past have non piloted tips... Even my c.c.'s # 772
#1052 and #666! All have non piloted tips. Designed for n.g. and I always used them with propane.. #3 non pilot tip was the only old school option. (Pre early 80's?)

And yes, They are ball valves for use with very low pressure. Not needle valves... A.k.a. very touchy ball valves. One is also missing in that eBay auction. I think replacement no name needle valves are about 30$ each. On top of that , in the pic they unscrew the barrel. You will need to reannel or replace the copper gasket that seals the barrel. Assumption it's like a c.c , and it looks like a replica cenco. I know swim had this brand/model in the past.

I have two super old CCs, one is piloted and one is not. I think they're both in the 500s, maybe one is older? I had the piloted one refurbished, but the non-piloted could definitely use some work. It's got a #5 center. I'd probably be willing to do the non-piloted for $600 shipped and can post pics if anyone's interested.

I would want a number three center. I have actually, before this was mentioned in the thread, sent the seller of that cenco a message on ebay explaining my low ball offer for the exact reasons boro brought up. I am sure if you anneal the copper gasket and put needle valves on it, the torch rips ass. I would take it over any new style beth.

I have offered 150$ on that cenco I think. I would not pay their full price but its worth more than I am offering, I am gonna just be flat out and say that I am waiting on a straight up steal or for someone to give me something. sounds weird or dickish, but Have given away torches on here and made great friends like lrg, and I have had torches given to me. I am looking for your straight up piper-fucked, ruined ass, smoke pit, roached ass bench burner. I just like to fuck with burners man, I am addicted. thanx all

I want someone in my NY shop to scoop that c.c. they have a full time bobcat on a lathe and a stacks on a bench... The stacks is for sure slowing his production times.

That new Beth design just lacks somehow.. Even the Beth grand I get to rip on in mass is lacking. I just don't get the heat I want. I get plenty of reduction tho. I have the grand set up at 36 o2 and 6/7 propane. Less than 50' of hose.

Hmmm. Someone might have to turn some color into money this week...

Fwiw, pretty sure pressure on the grand should be closer to 5/20 propane/oxy. I always found the higher o2 did weird things with the Beths, but that's just me

Apologies for the slightly off-topic comment.

I need the advice on the grand. . It was at 25 and 5... But it sucked.

Big foot and Don chilly recommended to crank up the pressures ... I'm just not a fan. I really need Beth lessons or something... I know when the candles are super long it's hotter , but it's always weird reducing , and less laminar flow ... I might try the low low #s this week. The stacks is totally unusable time wise when it's on the factory recommended low #s. I think I got jaded by gtt/herbys... Even a c.c. feels slow. (Sad day) cc+ did not leave me disappointed last time.

I'm trying to put this deal together. Would you consider partial trade like half cash half wholesale price greasy glass?

Got a pic of the ports?

Just catching up and late to the party. My observations are that a lot of people don't consider volume. A 1/4" gas line of any length will starve a burner that wants volume over pressure. Gtt burners because of the small porting are a different story.

See the dates? We lost like 3 weeks of posts on this sight. I question weather or not this is just a mirror of the original sight.

Maybe it was easier to delete the last month instead of cleaning up individual threads?
