Cutting tubing

I have the need to cut 25 mil tubing.
-25 by 4mm tubing to be exact. and some 50mm by 9mm.

-Any advice from anyone on this subject?

-I am thinking that scoring it 360 degrees and then heating it with a very hot kiln element wire to stress it would work.

-I do not want to water jet cut it.



-Is there a way to cut tubing with sound? i have heard of this.


-Maybe lasers? what kind of laser would I need?

-I have 600+ cuts to do per month and I do not want to have to clean up after the mess that a wet saw would make. (inside and outside of the tubing).

This sounds like way overkill when something like a wet saw will cut tube just fine with a decent blade.

This is the way they teach at Salem.

Here it is on a lathe, (second link) but I have seen it done with more finesse, you only need one scribe around the glass before you heat and spray the water.

I have used it clean on 75x5 , 50x5 and 50x7.... Not sure about 50x9? I would use a lathe only , if it went South you might loose a finger or hand...

Someone on Instagram just posted a " how to " on this method the last day or two, I can't recall whom it was.

That said, I have to help make thousands of cuts a month. We use a wet saw and dunk cut tubes into water , and plunge out the inside of each. Im lucky I only have to cut once in a blue moon. (I get to test melt color mostly )
