it looks a lot like crappy air bubbles in boro, but looks good, more like diamonds, in soft glass. good luck, i'm sure he will be very thankful for your effort.

sleepingmonkey:
I have made necklaces with human and pet ashes for my customers in the past. As Misha said, they look crappy encased in boro. I use small "rice necklace" vials for that purpose, and they are very elegant.
There are a few styles that work well with ashes:
-Genie bottle (amphora)
-Tear drop
-Plain tube
-Heart
-Cross
Let me know if you need some, and I can hook you up with all of the parts you need to assemble them.

I don't know if you're good at small work, but what about a little sculpture(hollow) of the dog's face (maybe coilpot?) that you could leave a hole in (like a miniature dog-face shaped jar that wouldn't stand up) put some of the ashes in, and then put some kind of a finding on top like the ones Wonka posted?
i assume you mean they look shitty melted into boro, right......making a vial of some sort (boro) and melting the top shut works, doesn't it?

my friends dog died, lifelong companion, he was a black lab, so I made his dog from a picture, and put an opal in a clear ball, put that in his mouth...a ball was his favorite toy, was the best rememberance of him.
I'd put the ashes in an ampule.
