Is that a rose quartz sphere with one of your murrini in it? That is cool. You should post it on Glass addiction
Marble On!
Mike
if it happens too quick, then that usually means it was rushed...( Sinbad )
Amazing as usual Chris! Hey we gotta hook up soon, come do some surfin'! We got the shop, a place to crash ect. so no worries, come on down.
Josh
Mike, it's Granite of some sort. I liberated a piece from a stone yard in Knoxville, TN, years ago. It's a complete sphere, beautifully polished, much better in hand. It started as a huge chunk of rock, I bashed around on it with hammers for a bit, then to the lap wheel, the a rough round in the sphere machine. I tried to dremel out the setting for the murrine, next time I'll use a diamond bit.. or mixing bullseye frit with epoxy to create a nice border, or.. on and on are the possibilities, as it is with everything glass people do. Not worrying about compatibility in the finished piece is really nice
Josh, you're killing me... we just want to be warm at this point, throwing in surfing is just cruelEspecially since I think I remember you saying you had a longboard, which is all I can stand up on. You guys are such nice folks, and have such a great thing going.. we'd love to make it down there and meet you. I think you are doing outstanding work, and doing it right :-)
