    Default Hey there!

I'm kannabeast or KB, whichever one you'd like to call me. I have a budding passion for glass, although I am just starting to learn about it and how awesome it is. One day, I'm going to marry a boro tube.

It's nice to meet you, and it's good to be here!

This is my last post, just wanted to let y'all know I am going to shoot myself in the face now.

Who is referring people from TC to here?

Whoa, whoa, why the hostility? I learned about this place on my own so I could learn further about glass working. :\

Is there some sort of hatred for certain types of people here? I haven't actually done anything wrong, have I? You can't blame the glass scene expanding due to certain medicines being legal; your culture and work are expanding with the right types of people, aren't they? And I personally don't have a desire to create just functional glass for those people; I am an individual with many concepts and ideas, and the fact that you are making assumptions about me based on my name alone is ludicrous. You don't even know me.

Your attitude is lousy and unhelpful, regardless of you being a senior forum member since 2006 with nearly 2k posts on your belt/who you are. If you gave me time, and perhaps under better circumstances, I'm sure we'd be friends.

I'm here for glass, not grass [blazing goes both ways in my strange, strange vernacular], and eventually, I hope we can be friends.

I wasn't being hostile towards you. I said I was going to shoot myself, not anyone else.

None the less, welcome. Read lots, work hard, be humble.

They hate medicinal references. This dude named O.I.L just put a thread up, use your search function and read his entire thread before you get into a war with the seniors. This is a great sight with tons of info and connects. The people who are on here regularly see your post all the time from some other buddy with a weed related name. Keep your name. The is a guy named Hash Masta on here and he is reasonably respected. I think it is a combo Noob and weed refernce issue. You can reference weed, just not if you are a Noob. You can be a Noob, but you cant refernence weed. It is weird. I think it is silly but many people on here make a living and consider themselves professionals. Have you seen the Tommy Chong documentary? This is why they are scared. Nobody is making paraphernalia it is functional art. Good luck bro and if you are ever in texas hit me up and blaze one.

I kind of took it personally, just because I understand that kind of attitude and got upset because I was causing offense. I'm going to do my best to repair my image, and I'll ask to have the title of the post changed at the very least. I apologize.

Those words are spoken very clearly, and I want to reassure you that they are not falling on deaf ears. I understand them, and I sincerely respect and cherish the craft of glass smithing. For me personally, it's an inner calling for my hands to work till my dying day.

Thank you both so much. Sorry for the rough start, Aymie.

    ^its your name.

we have worked hard to become respectable artist, not just a bunch of dam stoners.

references to unlawful substances hurts us all, and is in violation of the terms of service on this site.

other than that welcome, and if your going to hang, you better toughen up that skin!

it's good you figured it out early, you'll save yourself some stress. try not to make assumptions about our motivations for being subtle here, our jobs and the safety of our families require that we be a bit paranoid. the new breed of stoners who want to shout from the mountaintop just scare us a little. we generally assume these things about pipers anyway, you don't have to tell us.

I'll be changing my name, then! There's a lot of insight here, and I don't want to jeopardize anyone or put anyone to shame. Thank you all for the great wisdom and welcome, and I sincerely apologize for my ignorance.

@Aymie: Senior member or not, you have great experience and you've been here long enough for anyone to really value and respect what you have to say. You know, as opposed to being someone with no seasoning who joined just last month...with an obnoxious alias, to boot....... :P

i'll probably get some hate for this but i think seniors is an appropriate term. I have a ton of respect for all the accomplished artists on here but there's also a ton of negativity towards those new to the art. it kind of reminds me of an old man bitching about "kids these days with their dyed hair and pants hanging down past their asses".

I get the frustration but still, why even waste your time replying in the first place.

it seems like we try to set folks straight before they get the sandwich treatment. the reason we bother is that there are dozens of people here who turned themselves around and are now members of the community in good standing. if people with more experience hadn't seen it worth their effort to show me what up i certainly wouldn't have been able to hang, i had never seen a forum before this and i wasn't aware of the proper way to behave in this setting. i'm glad they did, my career would have been totally different without this place and the people i've met have become some of my closest friends.

Thank you; I woke up to this, and it made waking up ten times more awesome than it usually is. I'm looking forward to it.
