Phantom for trade
Looking to trade my phantom for a mirage. The phantom is in very good shape and has been my daily driver for 3 years. It comes with a blast shield marver. I would like a GTT Mirage in good condition. I'm offering my phantom plus 500 cash. Prefer to pick up in Colorado. Hit me up at glassartistflorida at yahoo.com as I do not check the melting pot alot.

Dammit. Dibs if you decide to sell
willing to pay over retail for a clean torch.

Re: Phantom for trade
Youll prob be better off getting on the list at GTT,or sourcing a Mirage then selling the phantom to this guy^ . Not many ppl let go of their Mirages, and its almost never done to obtain a smaller torch. Best of luck

i'll see you back here at that time...asking where is my torch???
thats why the seller probably wants to trade, and not sell. If gtt's were that easy to come by, he would just sell it.
sounds like you'll find out the hard way

I initially felt the same way about buying a used GTT. Why pay more than retail for something used, right? I called GTT and got on the wait list in early January, they said "end of this month." After reading about wait times on various forums, and then of course having them not come through for me by the end of the month (still haven't called me either unsurprisingly), I just bought a used phantom for more than retail. I don't mind really, especially because the guy took really good care of it and it's in excellent condition. Practically like-new. I have heard some people say the current wait for a phantom (new from GTT) is close to a year. But even if it's 6 months, fuck that I'll pay a premium to start blowing glass NOW. Even though I paid a lot, it was worth every penny and I love it.

Yes, the phantom is my first torch; I'm new. I am going to start a progression thread very soon. Initially I had found a studio to work in and I put my first 30-40ish hours on the torch there, but it ended up not working out and I left. Fortunately, I have another studio that I will be able to work in very soon, the guy who owns it is just finishing up some final touches on it. Hopefully I'll be able to start in the new studio by April 1st.
