Vendor Badge and what it means.

You guys will notice a vendor badge floating around. The purpose of this badge is to identify a vendor on our forums. It is NOT an endorsement from the Melting Pot staff, only that we have verified that the person is in fact reasonably able to sell the sorts of things they're advertising in that they provide a website, phone number, and/or address, which allows them to continue to sell here.

In addition to the Vendor Badge, we request all industry company owners and employees to have their company name and position as their Custom User Title (that is the by-line under your user name...e.g. "Glass-a-holic"), or in their signature line. Please ask one of the staff if you need help with this.

This effort to more specifically identify the Vendors and their employees will give them the ability to express their opinions on the board, while still allowing members to assess information for themselves and determine whether or not a bias may exist.

Having the vendors identified here will hopefully help our members to make safer choices when buying products. However we cannot and will not be held responsible for the outcome of any transaction, nor will we get involved in transactions. As with any internet transaction, it is "buyer beware".

Any store/distributor of products must have a vendor badge to post company sales in our classifieds. This does not apply to someone who does not run a storefront/distribution business and simply wants to sell something extra, or a tool they don’t need anymore. All vendors can post their sales in the "vendor sales" section, and members can continue to post their odds and ends in the "member sales" section.

In order to be able to post your items for sale in the vendor section, you need to have vendor access. To apply for a vendor access and badge please post your info in the glass phone book forum, or send me a PM. Provide your website, phone number, physical address, email, and full name. There is no cost to apply but we would appreciate a donation from your company if possible. Our suggested donation is $100 or more a year. When you donate you'll also get a Supporter Flame badge which shows your support of the forum, increases your inbox and picture space and gives you a few perks only supporters have.

We hope this helps our community out a bit and you are all happy with the changes. Thank you all for the understanding and cooperation on our vendor system.
